The lab I spoke with said do NOT burn oil with PCBs, it will be bad, very bad.

They both have serial numbers on the tags, so I would use those to name the samples. I don’t want to get too involved with the state yet, if I can’t deal with this for a reasonable cost privately, then I will enlist the state. I just have visions of the land being classified as a hazardous waste dump and them wanting to test everything to confirm any issues.

Make sure the lab you choose is certified. I cannot stress that enough. It will save you from having to re-test if they are not certified.

Burning is bad, very bad.

And yes, you don't want this to go beyond just the transformer oil, it can become a can of worms fast.

It's a bummer when you're trying to do the right thing and its so difficult. We're fortunate out here, King Cty has a great haz mat recycling program for homeowners, I bring stuff there all the time, free drop off. Industrial, I'm guessing they are pretty good on that too, but I wouldn't know.

Kudos to you for doing your best to dispose of everything correctly, so many do not. Good luck, I hope it all works out and is not too expensive. -Ed

^^Very good point F451, Kudos for trying to do the right thing. It's a shame that they don't make "doing the right thing" a hell of a lot easier! That is ridiculous all the **** you are having to go through!

The guy out of Pennsylvania cuties me $1.75 per pound plus freight to dispose of them, now I just need to find someone closer. They can’t be more than 100 pounds each, I can pick them up and move them.

Today has been shuffle trucks and forklifts day. Got two more burbs to the SG, so far two more forklifts, and then we are swapping one Ford for another. I hope to have two more forklifts here before the day is over. That will be perfect and money well spent on a ramp truck and driver.

I have moved some things around, getting ready to actual move trailers and burbs now. I have a plan, at least it seems like a plan. I just need to be ready enough if it really does snow bad. It doesn’t need to be perfect, but close.

Still have all the electronics with capacitors and transformers that need to be broken down. I am going to stuff them away for the time being.

Ok, good thing you sold that Mohawk lift, you don't need it. Just place a forklift at each wheel on the burbs, or trucks, and lift! Mobile lifting. Seems like you enough to lift a couple burbs simultaneously for pulling parts off one and installing on another.

Eventually I will own a nice set of column lifts, eventually.

It is amazing how much time it takes to get the last few things put away. I have three trucks to move (all non running) and three trailers to move, but I have a dozen other things that have to be done in between. Plus I have to get all my trucks back to the Hill tonight. Not exactly sure how I will make all that happen, but going to try.

I am stressing out, still not even close to ready and I have two hours of daylight. I am still plugging away, going to be a long evening. If I can get all the hard to do in the dark stuff done, that will make me feel a bit better. Looks like tomorrow will start out as rain and wind, then turn to snow (or not) in the evening.

I have even dropped a bunch of my plans, if we have **** weather, I won’t be doing anything outside at the Hill anyways, so Perk and Clark are staying at the SG for the time being. Not overly happy about that, but I have my fingers crossed that the snow won’t be around too long. I know, I know.

Yeah, had to have my early afternoon freak out. Looks like I may get most of what I need to done, at least at the SG. Still have to put wheels on the red trailer out front so I can get it moved, going to be working on that next. All the other trailers are shuffled and things are essentially put away for the winter. I am taking a breather, may take a couple pics from the drone, assuming it doesn’t want to be updated with new firmware or anything like last time.

Roof is fixed enough for the next storm, definitely need to do some repairs, more like replace the entire roof.

Got the bucket truck set up for the chimney stove pipe on the house, will do that after the storm, but the truck is in place. Also moved the generator to its temporary home.

Working on misc ****, getting things so I can at least plow if needed. I see that both Dad’s plow and the one for the new F-350 are sitting out next to the Quonset hut, same place they have been since spring, you would think Dad would have at least gotten his. Tomorrow morning (wait, it is tomorrow morning?) I need to get the F-350 setup and ready to plow. Lots to do, getting worn down now.

Can’t move the last trailer where I want to, brakes are frozen up and Perk didn’t have enough traction to push it back into the spot. I did at least pull it forward so it wasn’t blocking the secondary exit anymore.





I have two more small trailers to deal with, then I can hook up the plow. Going to get my waste oil first, don’t want to be on the road with the F-550 once they start treating it with rust enhancing chemicals.

We already have a few inches, not too happy, I wish I had never gone to get the waste oil, took over three hours and I ended up having to drive the 550 in the snow for the first time ever (it was a Florida truck and we parked it during winter). I felt so bad, I don't have a good way to clean it off, but I am going to get my pressure washer working soon, then I can at least try and hose things off if I get in this situation again. Luckily it had been raining so there was no pretreat everywhere, then I only ran a few miles where it had been salted, so it isn't the end of the world......



I still had to hook up the plow to the F-350, move a couple trailers, and situate the rest of the vehicles. I am going to move one more pile of **** with Clark before it gets too bad. The pile is right where I want to be able to plow, luckily it looks like it is setup to be lifted with the forklift.
