I like to follow every Texas build. How many yards of concrete was the pour?
Right at 100 yards, 10 trucks worth. Started pouring at 5am, finished pour by 8. Finished everything by 2pm with a smooth finish. Epoxy coat next week.

What are your plans with that much space?
Finally dad gets his shop. 2 kids thru college, everything has been on hold.

Building early Mustangs, a Kirkham Cobra to finish, metal fab and powder coating.

Yeah, I got the cobra not completed but wrecked already. Have repaired all the chassis and body. Built an all aluminium Shelby block 427 engine. 496 cu.in. 650 hp / 650 tq. Verified on dyno. Ought to be fun.

Expect delivery of my building on Tuesday December 2nd and awaiting epoxy kit to be delivered.

Any tips for applying the epoxy? Manufacturer recommended diamond grinding, which I'll do. Any other prep needed?

Will post pics and update as things progress.

That is one big building! Looking good... Are you putting those beams up by yourself?
Yes. Had a hand from some neighbors/co-volunteers in the fire dept. for the 3 center beam rafters, but otherwise all me myself and I[emoji16]

RacerX...at what point did it dawn on you that you didn't order a flat roof? :scared:

Didn't it push the columns outward when you installed the roof beams?
No, it didn't push the columns out at all. Realized it when I assembled the end wall girders and looked back to them. Looked at how the ends of the beams were made. 1 side flat, I side angled and then realized the angles had to fit together to form the roof pitch. Got it all corrected today and started installing girts.

Gotta love big steel buildings, especially in termite territory. Love the build. Can't wait to see more.

Exactly, Im also near houston and right after I bought my land I had marked some things off with a few wood stakes and a couple weeks later I went back and the stakes had all fallen over because the termites ate the part in the ground.

It was at that moment I knew I would not be building anything out of wood here, not even a house. It will be concrete and steel if I ever get around to it.

More pictures of steel going up.

Last pic of valve on my Condor scissor lift. Solenoid coil melted when left unit on while charging. Needs a rewire job after too many monkeys in the wiring prior to my ownership.

I repaired the hydraulics and got it working with new batteries and some simple wiring to get it working. Will give it a thorough rewire/rework once building is done. Not bad for a $500 lift and $550 in batteries.17141fe562e672a64813ce40d629cc88.jpg1e06d037596881b9a143314904acaad3.jpgdcbd5f0dddd6b6aaac6cf10c9a78fbd2.jpg71d1617b6c40449293d3426212fa52aa.jpg27f1cd2fee2fefa1e2ad36b5ae782bf0.jpg6c0a8e1c065737fc4b91dcfd8ace080d.jpg

Just like the old advertising for toys and bikes: "Some assembly required". It's going to be epic when finished. Subscribed and looking forward to all of it.

great job on the building, throwing that steel around is both terrifying and satisfying at the same time!. I chickened out on my second phase.

and OMG! definitely going to need more pics of the Cobra!

Still making forward progress. Adding roof purlins. 28 more to go.

Need to replace a leaking hose on my man lift. Boy, do I hate leaks!

Starting to hang wall sheets.

Picked up my 12x12 insulated doors also. They wanted $350 to deliver. $50 in gas and 3 hours later, they are home.c3e7ae9b746c6c6f8d0fc5ddb1bdae6e.jpg9af67c5c34e8fa6720daf4fd3a684225.jpg828491be94a21bb3dfc8dcf1792d7437.jpg8ce1a159ab09f0a97594a73746e44fa4.jpg

Thanks Duker!

Actually have had some help from buddies in the local VFD that I serve with help to erect the uprights and main roof beams. Most of the rest has been me as I have time.
