How do you like the Armstrong Eliminator set so far? I want to buy a set but I can't find one with metric sockets.

Wow that is a lot of Armstrong stuff. You got 10 1/2" drive ratchets? Are they all 12-972? If they are I might take one off your hands to fill in for this beat up pos I got from egay.

I wish you would have chimed in two weeks ago bro . . . I sold four of them, and one was given to a friend as gift, which he quickly arced off a battery post! :(

That is why I bought all three sets when I had the chance . . . The SAE sets seem to be more abundant then the Metric sets on the net. I was a little disappointed in the 1/4" set because the metric sockets were just the standard one's!

I have used them three times since receiving them, and love them . . . If it wasn't for the adapter to use as a standard ratchet it would not have been as good as a tool system, but hey its there!

Came in real handy when I received the 1/4" torque wrench which did not come with an adapter, can you screwed! :(

If things work out next month I will keep you in mind . . . What size are you looking for? I couldn't do a set with out having all three sizes, but your needs may be more modest? :headscrat

Well keep me in mind if you decide to part with another one. lol

On a side note, did you buy any of the indexible ratchets? They are pretty sweet and fine tooth. At least the 10-996 is anyway.

I have a 3/8" indexible coming with along with a 3/8" flex head, and a 3/8" Maxx beam style ratchet . . .

Might as well give you a peek as to what's coming next month! :bounce:

Here's my Armstrong dead-blow and a smaller Armstrong soft-face. Also are some Lixie urethane hammer faces (tips), they were cheaper and easier to get a hold of than the Armstrong ones (which were probably Lixie ones), might be worth knowing the name.

I appreciate the heads up on the name for the face for the mallet. What is the weight of that hammer you have there? :headscrat

This one is quite heavy and it doesn't even have any heads attached! :( I think its because the hammer is so long . . .

It's 3 lbs. (48 oz.) without the "heads", 3.5 lbs. with them. Mine is a dead-blow filled with lead (or whatever they used), I assume yours is a dead-blow?

With the Canadian dollar almost at par I couldn't pass this up for $65.00 USD. Ten piece metric gear wrench set from 10-19 mm.

First time dealing with this seller for this brand of tool. So he threw in a extra 3/8" ratchet for being such a great repeat buyer! :)
DSCN5664.jpg

The other ratchet that arrived the other day was feeling lonely because I sold off his brothers. So to make him feel better I let him in on the family photo to make him feel loved . . . :lol_hitti

Now where the hell are those fracken SAE gear wrenches I ordered last month?

I promise there will only be six more photo ops of new tools . . . :lol_hitti

What does $625.00 List price tools for $80.99 shipped to the 51st state get you these days? :headscrat

This is the family photo of the tools that came with this set: All are 3/8" drive ratchets, A 11-992 3/8" Maxx, 11-994 Flex Head, 11-996 Indexable, a sample of 9/16 wrenches one of which is my very first X-beam 25-718! :bounce:

Next is long pattern 25-418 12 point wrench, and two different style 9/16 gear wrenches which is really odd and new to me. :headscrat

One is the fine tooth, the other is a very course tooth one feels like there is literally only 10 teeth in there? (Just read the book, its for heavy duty use so no slippage)

Never had a set of the pin less impact sockets before. So I am very happy, and waiting patiently to receiving them! :bounce:

This design is definitely better, and safer, then the pinned style that I have been using for years . . .

This is something you don't see very often, so I decided to post it up for some of you guys who are interested. This is Armstrongs safety tool kit guide. It comes with a USB thumb drive, CD, and manuals, along with test sheets and safety placard.

The safety CD / USB drive has a presentation about the proper use of tools and how to use various tools in specific task. For a lot of you this is old hat, but for those starting out this covers all the basics and advanced information about proper technique and what to look for in tools, and how best to choose said tool for the task.

Post man forgot to drop off this package this morning. So when I went to get the mail, this is what was waiting inside a small flat rate box.

A entire set of 1/2" metric drive $37.45 shipped, shallow 6 point sockets 10-27 mm! :bounce:

Almost ran out of counter room trying to line these guys up for pictures!

you're still not sharing the wealth of smokin deal knowledge with us??

If and when I am done purchasing all the tools I require. I may consider sharing some of the places where I have purchased said tools.

Right now I have a few that still need to be filled, once that is done, perhaps I shall . . . :spit:

Teken, your addiction is.....addicting! :bounce: What an absolutely fabulous tool collection you've acquired. Congratulations!

I'll admit I never heard of Armstrong tools before joining GJ. Then I chanced upon a long handled combination wrench set KLars1 was selling here: took the leap and whoooo-dough-gies! What a beautiful quality tool they make.

I'm trying to obtain something from most major US tool manufacturers, simply for curiosity. I'll be looking forward to some of your extras appearing for sale here........

Ohhhhhhhhhh Mickey you're such a tease! I have the 1/4", 1/2" set coming down I hope next week.

I missed out on a 3/8" Eliminator Torque wrench two weeks ago, went for a smokin deal too, I forgot to link to it for a expire time . . . :(

Wasn't I suppose to ignore you, because of that awesome haul last week? :lol_hitti

As always I appreciate your insight and feed-back one and all . .

FYI Teken, Its not the 3/8" torque wrench you were looking for, but I came across this 1/4" torque wrench set on ebay. Not my listing, just trying to help a brutha out.

Much appreciated there Sir! I received two 1/4" torque wrenches from another fellow closer to home a few months back, and it was a standard style.

One was Army surplus, and the other was a mechanic closing shop . . . The surplus unit had seen better days to be honest, that one I sold to a friend for $35.00, the one from mechanic was brand new, he never even used it!

Only paid $46.00 for that unit but it was brand new so can't really complain to be honest!

I will definitely keep you in mind for future sales . . .

Wait until he posts his newest arrivals in a week or so.

Oh yes there shall be more! After this next couple of items I am pretty much done . . . There will be some duplicates for sale, as I can't justify having on hand 3-4 extra's of wrenches and sockets so GJ will get first dibs first.

Anything that doesn't move shall be listed on E-Bay . . .

You gotta stop doing this to me!!!

I think I need to go pick up an armstrong ratchet or 2 well maybe 3...

Promise, there will only be eight more postings about new tools from Armstrong!

The rest will be all the Wera, Wiha, Knipex, coming next month!

BTW: Expect to see some Snap-On tools for sale in the next few months from me. I am selling quite a few tools from my own set, and that of a few friends who don't have the time to do any internet sales etc.

Everyone have a safe & happy week-end!

I thought the posty had forgotten about me this week . . . :headscrat :( But, alas he simply had a parcel no signature required in the bin! :bounce:

What does California bring the Teken house hold this week? :headscrat A 3/8" torque wrench 100 - 1000 inch pounds, 8.3 ft/lbs - 83.33 ft/lbs filling in that void I had with the other two torque wrenches. . .

Still a lot of out standing tools enroute from Texas, LA, CA, WA, MN, IL, OR, etc . . . Shipping from state to state to Canada has been a rock solid 14 calender days! Really have to give props to those in the USPS / Canada Post they are in my experience first rate in moving the mail and parcels on a value added price point . . .

See you all this time next week for more . . .:spit:

Great stuff!

I just bought extra long hex driver set (1/4) from Armstrong. Two of the hex bits were bent. Sending it back :(

Sorry to hear that . . . I am trying to get this NAPA branded extension replaced from them which was sealed in a Armstrong bag right now . . .

Called the service department and the lady on the phone said she would return my call regarding a few things but still hasn't called back yet . . . :(

I have been having a real hard time piecing all the 1/4", 3/8" drive sockets in Metric and SAE. I was also told that I would be doing more road work so these two kits were the perfect choice to have what I needed and also in a secure container.

Once again a fellow GJ member did me a solid and helped me acquire these tools so as they could be sent up north.

I have to say thank you Sir, thank you for helping out a perfect stranger, and thank you to your beautiful wife in getting said tools to the post office in her hectic schedule!

Seven more box's coming hopefully by weeks end . . . I was told one parcel is being held due to drug seizure! :wtf:  :(

I have no clue what the **** is coming from New Mexico in that box, but if some ATF masked guy jumps out all the while I sign for the package I won't be a happy camper!

I am hoping to wrap up this thread soon as the bandwidth from the photobucket account keeps saying its maxed out for the weeks usage . . . :(

There will be a few surprises coming from Britain / Japan . . .

Enjoy the show . . .
