WOW!!! Great build!!!
Could you please make a list of things you would have done different (if any)??
List of stuff i would do differently:
1. More space (bigger)
2. Divided shop, portion for car storage/ detailing (clean area) and a side for dirty work.
3. Maybe replace the two 10x8 doors on the front of the shop with an 18' single door. Although, i think the two doors look much better. I would have to really think about this one.
4. add small instant hot water heater for sink (can still be done)
5. 16' ceiling in the lift bay instead of 12' ( I actually wouldn't do this at this shop because it is in front of my home on the property and would look bad)
6. Add shelving to the loft for storage.
7. Yard Barn for lawn **** (see ^1)
That's about all the second thoughts i've had to this point.
Also, is everything working the way you expected? Like the window, doors, heater, and air compressor placement??
I really like my high windows, keeps eyes out and lets a nice breeze in. I made sills big enough to hold box fans for july and august.
For the doors see ^3 above.
The heater has really worked out great. I am super surprised how little propane i went through in one of the colder winters in the last 20 years. I haven't had it re-filled yet but, i am estimating that I used about 75 gallons this winter based on the gauge on the tank.
Air compressor placement has been great. Its been a really good use of hard to use space. I need to get around to running pipping through the shop though. I also ran pvc drain up the the compressor before i poured the floor that i haven't gotten around to hooking up an auto drain to.
I spent a lot of time beating myself up over placement and layout during the build and i think it has really paid off.
