If only they were as plentiful as everyone states online.Exactly as stated above. If u got 2k cash just buy a used snap on. For 2K you can get one in great condition.
No kidding. Maybe in a major metro area its possible to run across these deals more often, but I know where I am at every SO box listed is $$$ or its through the dealer who wants $$$.
I'd love to see a triple bay krl for 3k. At that price I'd have to think it's stolen or there is still a lein on it. I'm in San Diego and I can't even find a classic 78 for 3k.Yes u r correct. I live in a large city in Texas and these deals that u r mentioning r here for the taking. At least twice a month I can get a 1022 for 1700-2000. Triple bay KRLs r more desireable running 3k give or take a couple hundred. 7022 go for 1500-1800. If the OP is in a large city with these types of deals I would at least look into it.
Every area is different, but their are a lot of people in poverty where I live(also a lot of people doing well). Whatever the circumstances may be they are plentiful in my area. And even when you’re selling one that cheap it’s hard to get rid of because I just don’t think a lot of people have money where I’m at. Already had a toolbox in my garage but I purchased a KTL 1022 two years old with a bedliner top for 1800 just because it was too good of a deal to pass up. In gloss black and metallic red too. I guess maybe I’m fortunate to live in an area like this as far as toolboxes are concerned. Yes I definitely understand if you live in a rural community you’re not gonna get the same deals.I'd love to see a triple bay krl for 3k. Around here (Toronto area) used Snap-on box are like gold. Anything that's still in good shape starts around 50% of list, and is usually higher than that. No way there's ever going to be a KTL 1022 for less than $6,000, and they would probably be asking way more. I envy you guys where the used stuff is so cheap!
Crazy. I paid 30% off list BRAND NEW just paying cash instead of financing.

For me if you're spending that kind of money id want a 30" deep box. I'd watch facebook marketplace and Craigslist, there are some great deals out there.
You guys crack me up with these massive truck box deals, because I have YET to ever see one and I usually watch the market pretty closely.
If you’re still in FtW then you’re pretty well centered in my search area, which is Detroit down to Indy and out to the east side of Chicago, ~4 hour trip. Not sure what exactly your criteria are, but I picked up two KR1000s this fall, $400 for one just above Indy and another for $700 out by Gary. They’re only ~55” but about the heaviest duty box SO ever made. I regularly see clean larger Space Stations and Classics ~60-70” for a grand or so used. IMHO the only “trick” to finding deals is to look regularly and use general terms like “Snapon box,” if somebody knows the model then they prob also want a bazillion bucks for it.

You have hours of fun ahead loading up that box!
Is it too late to suggest two chests?
Everybody has a big big rollaway but it never gets rolled around that much since it's so heavy. Not just DIYer but in shops too IME.
Oh my yes.......I'm in love. This sucker is a freaking TANK.

Even kinda matches my car.....sort of. Close enough for government work.

Delivery was a **** shoot. It was shipped through a carrier who's smallest liftgate was a 42' semi........so no go. I went with a buddy and his truck/trailer and brought it home. It initially seemed like it was going to be a MAJOR chore to get it uncrated and off the trailer, but in reality, the worst part was getting the trailer backed into my garage given I have a rather steep driveway.
It's in it's permanent home in that corner splitting the two parts of my garage, no worse for wear. Now comes the fun of moving tools and cleaning the mess that's left over from all the shifting things around (the shelf above and the cabinet behind the old box were flipped on that wall before).
still lot of love for those older craftsman boxes, yours was pretty usable layout & if tidy pretty desirable on used market .
Id go Craftsman or Husky if it were me.
Awesome box fastbird! I’ve been kicking getting the rx 55” sometime down the road also looking at the 60” Tekton/rousseau box. I would love to see more pictures of it if you don’t mind. Maybe some close ups of the casters, and measurements of the drawers and other little details and such. I can’t really find much on the internet or good up close pictures of these boxes.
I'll try to accommodate that after my work schedule calms down this week.
