Nope didn’t make a sound since I wasn’t there.

For the drawers I just need someone to design me some 2001 Space Odyssey automated drawers

That would be Val, “Shorty, oh yes, I will open your drawers”.

Well I was all set to continue on projects from last weekend when the Mrs decided we need to pick up a new bedroom set tomorrow. The trailer still had a bunch of stuff from my Fred Sanford run at apartment by my house. IMG_2728.jpg and a bunch of fence post. Lift came to the rescue again as I needed the furniture dollies for tomorrow.
The two brass manifolds need to be disassembled so I can sell or scrap easier. The nice vise sure made it better than working on the floor with two pipe wrenches. IMG_2729.jpg

Shorty, seeing you take the scrap stuff out of your trailer and dealing with it impressed me and I was feeling kinda inadequate in my shop accomplishments until I seen it was initiated by the wife.:lol_hitti:lol_hitti

So how do you like those pipe jaws on that new vise?

Pipe jaws on this vise work great

And to confirm being initiated by wife, I even added padding to my hand truck in her West Virginia style. 770d7140932eda1e48a2d606a4208b7f.jpg

While I am impressed with the padding on the hand truck I found myself coveting your Lista cabinets!

Duker, , :lol_hitti:lol_hitti:lol_hitti, I’m laughing at you coveting those Listas because that’s all Shorty lusted after while I had them. I even put warning signs on them the first time he came over. He lusted over those so much I think they had to put him on IV to treat for dehydration for excessive drool.

The same trip he was scoping out my bandsaw.

So traded cabinets, here’s the hag I got for the two green ones you like.

And he finally gets what he lusts, yes that’s Shorty in jeans and shoes.

Just yesterday he caught a glimpse of the blue one in a photo I shared with him, yep, you guessed it, he’s lusting after that one now.

Lol well at least we share good taste in cabinets!

The same trip he was scoping out my bandsaw.

Yeah, I think I had the same experience as he was coveting my grinders when he was here....

So traded cabinets, here’s the hag I got for the two green ones you like.

Shortys diversion help that night.

Damn that’s a sneaky diversion tactic.... it sure as hell would have worked on me!

I can’t blame him it’s a fine looking cabinet although being colorblind to the color it looks the same to me... lol

This picture is too funny. You probably have to watch him every minute in your shop... if it isn't bolted down, WATCH OUT!!!

That is a really nice bandsaw, BTW.

Mark, I wish. I’m either moving cabinets, getting face sprayed pulling wire, or unloading heavy equipment.

:lol_hitti:lol_hitti:lol_hitti I forgot about the face wash.
Shorty was helping me pull the electrical wire feed to my new shed, was having a hard time sucking ( shorty?) the pull string through the conduit. OK, time for the big gun, I’ll blow the conduit out with air, watch out Shorty I said, shot the conduit with a good burst of air and I could tell it cleared the conduit out........... of water that is. I go to the shed and Shorty has water dripping off him......, I guess his hearing didn’t hear me, but his glasses were clean.:lol_hitti:lol_hitti

Yes, we moved some cabinets that day.

The heavy equipment was your lathe Shorty.

All a good day!

Thanks Mark, it’s my school auction Powermatic that’s equipped with the gear box that allows it to be used for metal cutting.

I finally found one at a estate sale so he’d leave mine alone.:lol_hitti

I'm glad you explained that because Shorty's comment left me a little puzzled. You guys have way too much fun together! LOL

Its cool that the bandsaw can do various materials. Thanks for explaining that.

Thanks for your comments. As far as floor space, that’s an illusion. So I can compare to you guys, I had a picture as a life size mural. I now you that as my photo backdrop.

Today’s safety lesson is “What to do”

Ensure your material is supported properly especially heavier items 4112e3d3069fde11fb4858cec7d8a512.jpg

To deal with the blue racks, I decided what’s better than finishing the last project... start a new one.
Some scribbles led to drawingsIMG_2776.jpg
which resulted in more scribbles 63632588214__0BCC5338-1F25-4CE9-AEA4-9D2489967622.jpg
Then to Sketch Up. 63634304352__F8805AF9-9DF1-4DE1-ACD8-05ADC297EF4A.jpg and turned into this mock-up IMG_2774.jpg
Ran out of gas so couldn’t get welding finished.

Shorty, when I first glanced at this picture, I thought it was in your shop and the cause of the red spots.

Duct tape is the only way to go. More abrasion resistant than electrical or painter's tape, and it stays on better when it gets wet.

Agreed. I've probably used one whole roll of duct tape over the years just wrapping cuts. When I come home with duct tape on , my wife's first comment is "Do we need to go to the ER ?". She knows how bad the cut was by how long I leave the original tape on.

I thought duct tape was for wrapping fingers when you're going to be handling a lot of concrete blocks. Next time I cut a limb off I'll try the duct tape. What's this ER you speak of?

Moving right along.....

The welding is done, the painting is done, next the swap out. c7c9644594c91c8e905ded79dffc0b79.jpg
While the paint was drying I decided to finally cut the hole for the top cap of the vise stand. 8765d3e63f91b53a2e0d62ff8518e900.jpg another instance of having the right tool, sanding the inside was easy with the Rockwell 1” belt sander. 6224f56484108fb89b4c4df1951a73d4.jpg
Another tool that changed my way of thinking was a 4” grinder with handle and a wire cup. In the past, a drill was used or a grinder without a handle. With the proper set up, prepping the rack pieces was almost an enjoyable task.

Safety tip: don’t wear clothes when using a wire cup...you won’t end up with a bunch of wire stuck in your clothes and it’s free acupuncture.

Now I want a belt sander!!!

Regarding your safety tip... I was wearing frayed blue jean shorts one day while wire brushing the manlift parts for re-paint. For a while, I felt my pant leg getting snagged on something as I moved around. After about an hour of this irritation, I decided to take a break and investigate. Turns out it was one of those little broken off wires that lodged itself into my thigh, parallel to the skin surface and not very deep. It was close enough to the surface that I could see the whole thing and I got lucky it didn't let any blood out. Those pesky things fly everywhere!
