Missed this post, but I've grown mesquite trees from the seed pods by starting them in flower pots on the porch. I actually got some seeds here in PA that I've been thinking long and hard about growing. I love mesquite woods when they get plenty of water so they don't grow needles. Here in PA they would get a lot of water but I'm worried about the winter we get here. Either way, it wont hurt to try it I guess. Use to camp in Cristoval, TX by the river at a private land. Those mesquite trees was huge due to all of the water that they got from the river. The wood is such a dark and rich color wood that I've always wanted to make a nice box out of it for family knick knacks.
Hello
Madison and thanks for stopping by. We love our mesquites, the palo verde's, not so much. We had a problem here where ants were all over these mesquites eating at them and weakening their limbs. We have since taken care of the ants but the damage they did on the trees was horrible.
Ohhhh looking forward to seeing it get built!
Rudi.
Hi
Rudi, I'm looking forward to see it get built too. This is taking forever.
Speaking of which...........
When they dug the trenches for the footings, the contractor was hoping that those tailings would be enough to level out the land in that area. Turns out that wasn't the case, by a long shot. So we now hove a pile of ABC (aggregate base course) to help level things out. This stuff is a lot like what some folks call "road pack". The land where the shop is going to be is about 8" - 9" out of level.
So I go into work yesterday and find my computer shut down. I always leave it running during the week and shut it down for the weekend.
So I commence to start it up and get this message
This is
NOT good!! Our IT guys better be able to retrieve some of the data off that hard drive otherwise I will have lost literally years worth of data. I thought my backup files were being kept on the server. Turns out our IT folks, when they gave me this new laptop, changed it and they were kept locally on the hard drive.

Not happy here!
