Keep this one going and we can change the title when you need.
Hi Dan
The only opinion that counts is yours, we’ll follow along whatever you decide.
We’re all on lockdown here, not much moving going on.
Are you one of those celebrity flipper types, making a quick buck, then moving on.
Take care, stay safe.

What! You just got everything the way you like it.
Bret
The trailer came out awesome![]()

Getting the trailer ready was step 1 for moving!
Mike

Well folks, stay tuned.
Odd Acres is moving.
Not sure if I should start a new thread or keep adding to this one.
Opinions please??

Thanks Simon. I was leaning to keeping this one active.

Your place is nicely set up now, would be hard to leave it behind. Anyhow best of luck with the next one!
but a move opens up opportunity for more concrete work.....
Bwahahahahaha.......... Total clean slate.acres to hectares

Sorry I needed a laugh if any one gets the joke. Will be keen to see what you have happening.

Nope Simon, we're going from 1.01 acres to 1.18 acres.
We put in an offer on the house on Saturday and it was accepted yesterday. Getting all of the inspections and such completed is going to be an adventure with the governor of Arizona issuing a "stay at home" order until April 30th today.
.............sigh...................

Seriously though I am sure all will work out. I guess we are all being tested with our patience at present.

Stunning.

Dayumm, great looking place! Looks a lot like your current place to me, just larger.
I must say though...MAN-oh-MAN do I hate moving! Glad it's you & not me.
Good for you to make such a big adjustment in your lives to accommodate your parents. I hope everything goes well, albeit the mess we all seem to be in currently. And I hope for all of us, that it doesn't last beyond the current April extension.
Lastly, at the risk of over-using "I hope", I hope you, wife & parents feel comfortable as you all get used to being under one roof. That alone could be stressful, depending on how the propensity may be for all involved regarding the issues of living together. I've heard it said that sometimes older folks get set in their ways, annnd...
This coming from a guy who is 55 & definitely getting more set in his ways day by day! Get off my lawn!!![]()

Stunning.
Nice project
I second that.... that outdoor patio space is a perfect GJ meeting spot! I would travel to sit there and have a cocktail!

Very nice...and a NEW shop!

Congrats on the move Dan. You've created a nice place and I know what it's like to leave behind but your new place looks AWESOME.
I'm happy for you that you are able to do this and look forward to seeing your new shop build in the process.
As for the thread it's your call. I started a new one and just called it 2.0 but that was mainly because a lot of my earlier pictures were taken over by the tinypic debacle anyways, plus I just wanted people to see my nice, new and larger shop compared to my old and smaller shop.
Best of luck in the move and looking forward to seeing more pics of it and especially the shop.
That new place in quite a spread. I'm looking forward to what you do with it. Hope the transaction is as smooth as possible in these shelter-in-place days.
Good luck.
Dan, that's exciting news and I look forward to following along. My city has been under a "Stay Home, Stay Safe" order since Saturday, with almost every city service shut down, including the building where our Building Department is located. However, the city is still allowing building permits to be issued and inspections scheduled. In these uncertain times I suspect you are going to see amazingly quick permitting and inspections.
Fingers crossed on the sale of your current home!

Dan I think I am just as excited for you as you are. I don't plan on ever moving again. Especially since we have probably doubled what we own since we moved but sometimes life does change things for you without your consent.
Bret

Dan, we did the same with our current house. Saw the house on Sunday, October 20, 1996 and agreed to their asking price. Gave them the down payment on Monday, cashed out some securities and received the deed and key on November 1. No bank but a lawyer we both agreed on and a title insurance company were involved in the transaction. Old house was paid off so no big rush to sell. Bank was involved in that sale on the buyers side and it reminded me why I hate dealing with banks.Hi Bob, well according to my friend who is also a realtor, and who found the new place for us, we will have zero issues selling this place. But this place won't go on the market for a couple of months or more while we get things sorted out at the new place. Nice place to be that we don't have to sell this one to buy that one.

Hi Rudi and thanks for stopping by and those kind comments!
UPDATE:
Well, home inspection was last Friday. Only minor things for the homeowner to address.
Septic inspection was done today and while it's functioning fine, the inlet and outlet lines are tilted and need to be straightened out. I also want risers and caps installed so that there will be no digging for any future pump-outs. Sad part is I need to remove some trees.Someone planted a mesquite right were the inlet meets the tank. Oh yeah, not very bright. I'm surprised we didn't see roots crawling through the pipes or the tank. That tree is about 20 feet (6 meters) tall. There are two more trees (palo verde's) that are right on top of a leach field leg that have to go as well.
More to come.

For the most part good news Dan, other than the trees being removed. That's the shits.![]()
Good news on the inspection!
Hey save the wood from that Mesquite tree (locally it’s going between $7.50-12.50 a board foot for furniture grade) and it will make for some great projects. Worst case....a couple of years of seasoning in your sun will mellow it out for great smoke for the BBQ!
When you get it cut...ship me a couple of turning sized pieces and I will make you some goodies for the new casa!
