I plan on adding a Raskog cart under the bench with a stool next to it. Plan on making a cushioned top for the stool to match the cart.

Just want to add, sorry for derailing the thread...

...and on that note, I ran out to the Westborough, MA store at lunch today...

The Bosch impact bits were AWOL. I asked the guy in the Tool department, he laughed at me and said "There's a website called Brickseek, as soon as they posted those items, some guys came in here and wiped them out!" Oddly, the Lowe's site seemed to indicate that there were a few of each in stock, and I tried to show that to him (I pretended not to know about BS, LOL). He just said, "Good luck! I've been looking for those for the past three days..."

On the bright side, I found two of the 1296679 Kobalt stainless top cabinets in Aisle 15, top stock...

Really? I’ve been finding the Bosch bits at just about every local Lowe’s store. Which ones were you looking for?

Saw this in my Lowe’s today - I have the Porter Cable version of this light and it’s a fantastic light - one of the best I own.

Where in the stores are you physically finding them?

I don't "need" any particular ones, but would have bought Torx and Philips to stock up, and really wanted a set of nut drivers (Item 1634359).

They’ve been in the bays with the rest of the bits. There’s one random side/end cap thing with the “custom case” make your own bit box stuff in Milford that I was able to grab a set of 884129 nut setters for $2.59, which is missing the 1/2” driver, but I thought it was a better deal than the set you posted. I think Attleboro had some of the 2” torx bits on an end cap in tools as well, but that was before the weekend so who knows what might be left. I was in Milford yesterday and there seemed to be a bunch of stuff in its regular place still.

Thanks again for the hot tip!

Went to Milford tonight, the tool section in that place is a little bit of a maze, and these randomly placed end caps didn't make it easy...

But, I did grab the last 5-pack of the nut drivers. Also grabbed one of the 4-packs (I'm always misplacing these things). Picked up a few 8-packs of the various other bits (Phillips, square, Torx). They still have a few more of all of these items (except the 5-pack of nut drivers).

Also grabbed two 8-packs of drill bits (item 884130). Maybe junk, but >75% off, and only $3.68 each. They have a few more of these.

They also had several of the 15-pack Tic Tac boxes (T-20 and T-25 sizes) left, I didn't take any. They had a lot of the 2-packs of various bits. All of the items in this paragraph were on the big rack with the other brands (not an end cap).

And, I saw 2 more of the stainless top cabinets, top stock, I forget which aisle (13 or 15, IIRC).

And, they had one of these Craftsman impact sets left (item 1061488, see pic). Pretty decent discount (almost 70%), maybe not the best quality?

After work, drove down to Cranston, RI to pick up some empty cases for the Bosch bits (also on clearance for $3.88 each, 35% off). BS is already showing that I grabbed the last three.

They had several of the other clearance bits, if anyone's looking.

And, they're stocked with the next generation of these from Bosch. These clearance bits are supposed to be 10X impact duty, the new ones are supposed to be 50X. Whatever that means...

BTW, those of you who know about the escalation policy for Lowe's (assuming that there is one)...

Those stainless cabinets are 60% off. Lowe's site shows them as sold out, but there are a few around at different stores.

At what point do they drop further (and how much)?

Thanks.

Lowe’s has definitely been doing some moving and shaking so far this year. All the old Bosch bits are out and new Bosch bits are here. Wiha will also be coming in store in the next couple weeks. A couple decent deals.

Bosch 12v light is obviously bare tool but that impact kit comes with two 2.0s in the kit.

Unfortunately that 12v impact still over $100 by me. I was gonna pick it up, if it was ,$54.

Have any of you used that Bosch band saw yet? The negative reviews online were focused on blade quality. Are these a proprietary size, or can you replace them with a better quality (different brand) blade?

I do not own the band saw, but Bosch is my main brand of 18V tool. I have considered the band saw several times over the years, and the recent clearance price made me consider it again. The poor reviews have turned me off of this particular tool.

The blades are 28-7/8 inches and this seems to be a proprietary size. This means you are stuck paying Bosch's price of $10/blade.

The complaints about blades breaking may be because of the blade quality, but I think it is more likely that the problem is actually the tool itself in that it puts too much angular stress on the blade. If the issue were just poorly welded blades, then Bosch could quite easily rectify that. But since the complaints about the blades breaking have been constant over the last decade, I have to assume that the problem is the tool, not the blades.

I'm going to stick with my cheap Ryobi for now :) FWIW, I have put quite a bit of stress on this tool and am still on my first blade.

Wow, interesting, thanks.

I just got into the Milwaukee M18 line last year, and am trying to stick with one platform. But I'm also cheap, and love good deals.

Can I check online if the Bosch clearance prices are available in the stores near me, besides taking the time to go to the store (3 hrs)?

I could really use the 12 V impact driver with the two batteries. but the website shows it for the full price in my area. Thanks

My store on brickseek shows it on clearance, yet it shows up @105 in store.

take it to the cashier and ask for price check...

A lot of the times they don't bother to update anything in the price tag when it is discontinued etc. Some of them might be some shady business of the Store managers to not update the price tags, and wait for the system to drop below some price... then a "friend" will show up and buy all of them.

I've had good success regarding accuracy with brickseek in both price and inventory at Lowes. Still, there are zero guarantees with brickseek unfortunately.

Also, it's common to see a different price on the website compared to brickseek. In store I've so far always had products ring up at brickseek price. The 24pc bit set I just bought matched the brickseek price but the tag on the shelf showed the website/regular price.

Lowes current promotion on their website, check the store battery/charger and bandsaw inventory before heading out to the store.

Thanks for sharing. I did find a store nearby that has both in stock but I think I'm going to pass. The reviews regarding the blades are scaring me away.

That's where I'm stuck too. Amazing deal, unless the blade breakage is anything close to as bad as reported, and proprietary (can't upgrade to a better blade), making the tool a brick...

In my area, the store for your particular item that have the inventory are $77 to $103 dependents on the store... price is not guarantee in brickseek...

What I am saying was that a lot of times these discontinued items in my area lowes, the price tags are not updated in the store shelves... so it doesn't hurt to have them check the price and confirm. Nothing says you must buy if the price is not right, just walk away.

It was $103 on Saturday, today, $129. LOL. I will stop in again in a few weeks. I think its worth it @ the $53.

Those are showing up on BS at $77 (not $55) in my area.

Edit: Lowe's site is very weird...

If I choose a store with none in stock, they charge $129, and can ship to the store.

If I choose a store with some left, they charge $77, but say they're unavailable for online purchase.
