I thought the forklifts had a party, got drunk, and stacked tires on the first one to pass out.

If I drank coffee, it would be all over my keyboard!

As for Tetris, everything in life comes down to that, I think if they just taught Tetris 101 in school, more kids would grow up to be productive adults.......

I'll be working in my time capsule this weekend for the first time in 3 months (unheated pole building).
I haven't hardly even gone in it all winter, it gets depressing wanting to do something, but everything is so cold. Pick up one item, go "yikes, that's freezing!" and hightail it outta there. Not to mention its packed right tight for winter storage, so not much can happen either way.

Looks like I may end up having to do the same, I don't think we are going to be having the spring auction again, so two years of stuff has accumulated on top of doubling my locations and a good portion of my tools and supplies. :(

On a good note, the snow is fading fast and it is about 50 outside right now. I am going to do a couple things this afternoon outside, been inside the office all morning and it *****.

Some fresh pics:

And the Boston fire truck has a 14,600 pound front axle rating, that should be perfect for what I need to do until the four wheel drive gets implemented on Perk.

Might be April into June, things are going slow now, but I think it will be easier as it warms up and we get more daylight.

Is the door sticker the only identifier or is there a tag or something else on the axle? I know that you know your way around the mva well to get your not ordinary GVW, but how about the ***** at an out of state scales not to mention the Barney Fife roadside mobile scales?

Strouty, E-One is about three hours from me here in Florida. We’ve gone on their factory tours, pretty interesting place. It’s a pretty simple operation, not a huge automated facility.

I think you need a few more for lifts, think of all the off the floor pallet storage.

Maybe if you had some casters, you could mount to things to help your Tetris moves.:lol_hitti:lol_hitti

I will be creating a tag similar to the one in the picture, that will be what DOT would use, I am sure that there is some identification on the axle as well, but it might not be super easy to discern.

I am going to make carts with casters for the forklifts now.

;)

No real sleep last night, too many things on the brain. Had to be up early to meet the electricians, except they still aren’t here. :(

I loaded up the dump trailer so I can take that to, you guessed it, the dump. I would like to get the second bay cleaned up enough so I can actually use the lift again. Will be needing it next week, especially since the new Burb (Jersey) will be here.

After my sleepless night, I think it makes the most sense to just swap in the 18 speed transmission, I can use my existing PTO and pump for the time being, then Perk is usable again. Since I am selling the F-550, I don’t want to be stuck without a truck and I can already see it will be a big headache losing Perk for a couple months without another truck running. My mechanic isn’t in a rush for the 550, but I would like to get things dealt with sooner rather than later. The Jersey Burb will be my temporary daily driver, probably for the summer/fall, then I will pull it off the road when weather turns crappy so I don’t get any salt on it.

On top of all this my 3D printer and all the supplies are here waiting for me to start messing with that too.

a0ea999ea6b11b1963a14fac2b6cff97.jpg

The transmission is almost ready to have final cleaning done, then it will get paint. At this point I need to order all the new bolts for it, we ordered the special ones from Eaton as they were designed specifically for clearing the gears so they had some weird lengths. Didn’t want to have an eight of an inch destroy the transmission.

cbe035cec9e700c39ce0bf39e776302e.jpg

I can also clearly see that I NEED to setup the new air compressor and the parts washer, both of those things are causing me a lot of grief right now. The air compressor might as well be a water pump and the sink is getting old being used as a parts washer. ;)

So far I have shuffled the fire trucks and I am going to unload the F-550 from my trip a couple weeks ago. Then I think I will shuffle at least one truck so I can move the pile of rubble from the tower removal job. That will give me back my parking lot now that the snow is essentially gone. I am also sure that we will get more snow just because I made that statement, but I am OK with that, I know it won’t last too long. :)

Need to swap the hy-ram for the bucket on the Mitsu, it started up no problem, so far I haven’t had to jump anything and that is a nice feeling.

I also have to do a bunch of tree removal and earth work before next winter, things are way too tight everywhere up here.

I had to just about rub the bumper on a tree to get the army trailer into a decent spot. Those trees have been marked for death.

This is my personal tower site, happens to be connected to the Hill, but it needs to be cleaned up for sure. Snow removal is a RPITA.

It has an extendable neck, it will haul long items or short items and they don’t come up for sale as often so I bought it to have. We usually store our Gin Poles on them, but I have hauled wood, steel, tower sections, all kinds of stuff. This one will get a newer air brake axle that takes normal wheels and tires. We have two or three others and if I found a deal on two or three more, I would buy them. ;)

I have some stone being delivered this morning, going to try and fill in the mud pit at the bottom of the Hill, had to use four wheel drive to get through yesterday with the 550 and trailer. I need to swap the bucket back onto the mitsu and that means I need to fix the quick coupler lock bar, one of the bolts broke off.

The locking bar took a bit of effort to get the broken bolt out, but it is out.

Had to weld a washer and then a nut to the flush stud, took three tries and I had to heat things up really red with the torch.

Mitsu is at the bottom, now for the flintstone mobile. Two hikes up the Hill in a short time period is going to **** for my heavy ****.

This is kind of a treat, it is like 55 degrees and the ground is soft, we are getting more freezing temps from tonight through most of next week, I am taking advantage of this for sure.

How big is that flintstone mobile? Doesn't surprise me that you have one.

Didn't you have stone sitting somewhere that someone "mistakenly" took? or was that your dad's stone?

Nice fix on the locking bar.

Just saw the mud driveway.... UGH

The roller is new to me, so I am sure I am doing everything wrong, have to keep moving stone because it is either to thin or too thick depending on the mud.

The roller started smelling like hot coolant, I look at the gauge and it is pegged hot. :(

I moved it to the side and turned it off, definitely warm, now I get to chase that problem. Still have a bunch to do, but we now have two extra loads stockpiled, one at the bottom, one halfway up the Hill.

Well the radiator tricked me, when I looked at it this morning, it appeared to be full, but it was the reflection from a anti splash plate (or something) the radiator was actually almost empty. It looks like it has a leak, but I just put some fluid in and it was fine after that. I did keep getting just about stuck, you really can’t stop or if you lose traction you need to be really quick, the vibratory roller will sink really quickly in the soft area if it stays in one place.

2cb6310ea9e9024a0966a545ac52b506.jpg

I finished this area just using the roller, it wasn’t as nice, but I really didn’t want to risk getting stuck as the sun is setting.

I'm with you on gettin' while the gettin' is good. The thought of having to pull a roller out of the mud is a really scary thought.
