I will be creating a tag similar to the one in the picture, that will be what DOT would use, I am sure that there is some identification on the axle as well, but it might not be super easy to discern.
I am going to make carts with casters for the forklifts now.
No real sleep last night, too many things on the brain. Had to be up early to meet the electricians, except they still aren’t here.
I loaded up the dump trailer so I can take that to, you guessed it, the dump. I would like to get the second bay cleaned up enough so I can actually use the lift again. Will be needing it next week, especially since the new Burb (Jersey) will be here.
After my sleepless night, I think it makes the most sense to just swap in the 18 speed transmission, I can use my existing PTO and pump for the time being, then Perk is usable again. Since I am selling the F-550, I don’t want to be stuck without a truck and I can already see it will be a big headache losing Perk for a couple months without another truck running. My mechanic isn’t in a rush for the 550, but I would like to get things dealt with sooner rather than later. The Jersey Burb will be my temporary daily driver, probably for the summer/fall, then I will pull it off the road when weather turns crappy so I don’t get any salt on it.
On top of all this my 3D printer and all the supplies are here waiting for me to start messing with that too.
The transmission is almost ready to have final cleaning done, then it will get paint. At this point I need to order all the new bolts for it, we ordered the special ones from Eaton as they were designed specifically for clearing the gears so they had some weird lengths. Didn’t want to have an eight of an inch destroy the transmission.
I can also clearly see that I NEED to setup the new air compressor and the parts washer, both of those things are causing me a lot of grief right now. The air compressor might as well be a water pump and the sink is getting old being used as a parts washer.
