My daughter handed me a set of spacers to face off and drill. Her lathe is down for new wiring, this week.
I will be using my MYFORD Super 7 for this simple task.

Finished up this sign for my sister- she recently started this candle making company as a form of self employed whilst she looks after her young son. Bit of an impromptu project made up from some scrap steel and paint I had sitting around. The plywood for the board was literally that size, and all I purchased was the timber moulding to face it off. Disappointed with the sign writing but I can always improve on the next one. About a days work in all. Ps, only hung there to get a picture of it!

I did what I do most days...go out there with good intentions, start hunting tools, get pissed and sit down and stare at all of that **** and wonder how in the world does a man get to this point.....does anyone else find that 90% of their shop time is spent organizing the shop, cleaning the shop or building a new cabinet or bench for the shop? I have gremlins in mine which thrive on moving things and hiding things and straight up tossing things I just had to have and are never seen again once placed in that black hole.
I borrowed this from another thread.
Here is the official brake down.20210310_201631.jpeg

I forgot that I effed with the boiler. The blocked stack cutoff triggered. I tested, then clicked it. It's been firing fine all day. Checked the stack, it's clear. Probably due for a new cutoff. It's only 25 years old.

I finally got back to the pepsi machine! The video went live this morning. Check it out if you're bored and or interested in vintage Pepsi Cola, LaCrosse brand vending machines. It was my Grandfather's, passed on to Uncle, and now she found a new home in my garage. It's cool!

My sister and I used to ask Grandpa's for a soda pop from the old machine in his service garage. It was built for glass pop bottles. We often had pop chugging races when we were little. Ah memories! Hopefully I can pass it down to my kids someday.

Check it out:

Thanks,

A buddy bought a very nice 2006 Grand Marquis a couple of days ago. He got a great price, in part I suspect because the AC, while it made cold air, would only blow it out through the defroster vents. Well, I have a factory service manual for my '05 Crown Vic which covers Mercs too. With a bit of research and testing, it turned out to be the control head in the dash. Best price I could find on one of those buggers is $300 - some places want $600! A bit of googling found a Youtube video showing how to fix the old one! Get this - following the simple instructions in the video, we replaced 4 o-rings in the control head (at a cost of $.02 each) and now the HVAC is back to normal! Well, actually it cost $2.00 - the o-rings come in a bag of 100. So if you have a Ford product with an electronic HVAC control, and it won't blow out the correct vents, go here:

We even had time to wash, clay bar and wax the big beast.

A great day in the shop!

Happy Motoring!

My bil has a Grand Marquis and I did the same thing to it last year. Amazing what 50 cents worth of O-rings can do. [emoji106]

I had AC probs on our 95 T-bird. (ran full tilt or of....) I had occasion to disconnect the battery last year and when I reconnected it a few days later, the AC ran perfect! I guess I rebooted the AC computer...

That's not that uncommon in Ford products of that era. Alternator problems also caused AC and ECM problems.

Unloaded this.
If I didn’t have a Gantry I probably
never would have got it off the trailer.

Yesterday I spent a LOT of time filling in the control joints in the concrete... putting in 200' of backer rod in the saw cuts then emptying 9 tubes of Siki Seal... should have bought 10, but since I emptied the last tube I had at 12:15AM there's no getting another to finish, so gotta head to the store here in a few...

Put together a computer system for garage using an older gaming rig, 50" TV and an under desk slider to hide the keyboard when not in use.

Also, installed a Meross wifi and alexa enabled garage door opener. Paid about $25 for this one compaired to the MyQ system. Plus, this one does not need a yearly subscription to get full functionality.

That's just an amazing comeback...

Odis, wow! That looks like a different car.

Thank you, guys!

Cleaned the surface with clay bar. Wet sand with 1, 1.2, 1.5K paper, random orbit polish with 4 different compounds with various microfiber and foam pads, a round of paint glaze, then the final coat is from Meguiar's and their NXT Generation Polymer Sealant.

Not hard to do, just takes some time and some good music!

Thanks for commenting.

Pushed the car out to rearrange stuff in to the spring/summer/fall configuration.

Started to sweep, but the broom broke. Handle snapped in half. That was a surprise.

Measured and planned some projects. Need to get some steel and a fresh tank of MIG gas.

Changed the 3rd brake light bulb in my Dakota. Factory bulb went 20 years. Had to buy a two pack of replacements. I can’t imagine needing another one before the truck is reduced to a small pile of iron oxide and paint chips.

Installed the new A/C belt on the car, replacing the one I had to cut off last fall for a side of the road alternator belt replacement.

Got the grill out of the shed and cooked some burgers for dinner.

Now thinking about having a beer. It’s been a good day.

A few years ago I put a new touch screen radio in the Explorer. It was a really nice addition and I've really enjoyed it. Problem was that my Ex has a tan interior and the seats have a cream, practically white, insert. In normal daylight, the radio screen was all but unreadable due to the reflection from the passenger seat. I tried using matte screen guards but they didn't really help.
Because of the glare from my front passenger seat I could barely see the screen.
So I bought a black towel from WalMart. 4 bucks. I bought a 1/2 inch grommet kit from Amazon - 8 bucks. And I covered up the front passenger seat back passing the headrest posts through the grommets. The difference is incredible. I can actually see the screen now no matter how sunny it is.
It's a little hokey - I understand that. But the grommets hold it in place and it's easy to flip back over the seat if needed. I don't really care how it looks at this point because it solved a real problem for me.

Have you got a pic of this rig? I'd like to add some chickens to the mix, and my experience with chicks and incubators is about 60 years out of date.
