Ok GJ, Does anybody know what this tool/device is used for? What is it? Or is GJ gonna get stumped on this?
I picked this up yesterday along some other interesting tooling. Very high end Starrett Webber 6" long and angle gage blocks, a bunch new old stock Smiths aircraft acetylene welding handles & tips, watchmakers Bergeon staking set and KDK tool holders. It was in a large box of other random stuff that also had a Stevens "De-RE-LR" base stand for solid wire copper windings that you normally see for old school electronics. Haven't been able to find anything similar online.
Can't tell if this is shop made or a made product for market? No luck with the numbers stamped in the base. It has a Waters torque watch gauge, measuring very light ounces per inch with a keyless chuck holding a wire silver brazed onto a re0utilized pin held by the chuck, at the bottom of the wire looks like a watch spring? The small black vise on the base looks like its for a watch movements? Waters Co. only makes the spring dial tester that you see on top and was incorporated into this device. The overall height is 9".
Any clue? Thanks
