Worth $150 I'd say.
Was Jet a known, quality brand?
Not worth $300 but I'll bet he gets at least $200 for it. Drill Press prices have gone insane much the same as real estate, vise and anvil prices.
Been searching for months, and prices are prohibitive for myself at least. I only need a press for punching in ball bearings on riding mower wheels and chain cases (I rebuild old Snapper riders as a hobby). It's hard to justify buying at these prices when it's something I will use only occasionally. Hell, I don't even need a working motor on it, just something hefty enough to handle the downward force.
Then skip this. What you need is arbor press and not a Drill press.
I'll be using a tool specially designed for bearings and it requires a drill chuck.
You just use an arbor press with a chuck added. Easy to do but all depends how much headroom you need as it does take up some of the space.
See, this looks workable, is local, but guy wants $400!
Says it has a motor, but is hand-cranking as well. Would be perfect for my purposes I would think.
$400? I didn't realize they'd legalized marijuana out there. Suggest that he contact the Smithsonian and donate it. Otherwise, I might go $75, if I were feeling generous.
Kansas is still pretty vague considering it's only a mere 400 miles by 200 miles of area with 600+ cities with many other big cities on the other side of borders.
Go look on your FB Marketplace, there's plenty of other DP's selling for less.
Good luck
Up for auction locally and ends today, currently at $12.50.
How high would you go for this? It looks like a.....well, you guys know.![]()
Prices are regional, but I'd estimate fair market value at $150 + or -. That's a very stout machine. (looks like Delta)
I just sold my Delta last month. The one in your photo looks like it had a much heavier table though.

The table lock handle is shop made, the column has been cut down and something looks wrong with the head where the motor mount slides in. All red flags that there could be bigger issues with this dp.
Maybe I'm missing something but I just can't see pressing bearings with a drill press.
