If Anyone has an extra Bosch laser measure they want to part with, please pm me your price. None in my area.

If I pass by one of my stores that has them I’ll snag one for you.

There are two other models on clearance but not as low.

Nice find on the router!! I’ll see if I can find one but then will need batteries 🤔.

I’m dying to get my hands on the hole saw set but the price is moving soooo slooww.
I didn't buy any of those items. Cabinets might be nice for the shed. I'm standardizing on M18, so I'm not buying orphan cordless tools. The hole saws are priced too high.

In san francisco, any theft less than $900 won't get police response. People actually steal stuff and then return them for cash.

Prop 47 raised the threshold from misdemeanor to felony theft to $950 unless you've got a record (violence or *** crimes). Cops decided not enforce misdemeanor crimes. It's the same threshold across the state but San Francisco manages to be worse than pretty much anywhere in the state.

The difference is that in regular California you might still get prosecuted, even if it's just a misdemeanor. In SF the newly elected local DA has said it's a "low priority" to prosecute shoplifters, or some other such nonsense. So you won't even be charged with a crime even if you're caught. And if for some reason you were charged, the local policy is not to impose on people for misdemeanors, so you'll just be written a ticket and immediately released. And you won't be arrested if you don't pay the ticket or show up to court. So what stops people from shoplifting? Honor system I guess.

Anyway, don't steal stuff even if you can get away with it.

TLDR if you're in the SF area, check craigslist for unbelievable deals!

You may want to look at the production date of the DEF.. It has a shelf life, I do not buy any DEF over 6 months old. There are sites that can help you decode the date code.

What do you mean by "die hard?"

Mike

someone that:
•goes to Home Depot just to check if prices dropped on things they’ve been watching

•has 10+ Brickseek browser tabs open to check inventory at their local stores

•looks in the shelves above more than the normal shelves since the best deals are often times sitting in the racks rather than on display, since they would’ve been sold already if advertised as such

•searches the store computer price checkers for deals in categories they shop (ryobi, husky, DeWalt, smart, WiFi, etc) to catch deals that may be at other stores or not on display at the store they are in

I do all this pretty often especially when HD is changing out a lot of product. I enjoy the “hunt“ for a good deal and also like getting tools for cheaper that I normally would be too cheap to buy.

deals I’ve recently got using these methods are:
•40v ryobi leaf mulcher: $32.25
•40v pole saw: $29.75
•kreg jig: $25.03
•Bosch distance measurer: $18.03
•4 gal echo backpack sprayer: $1

Most of this i‘d be too cheap to buy for the full price, so I wait for deals to pop up and jump on them.

The Milwaukee M18 router and 5 amp hour battery are on sale for $180 MKE Router. I went to buy it yesterday and was told it is online only and they are unable to match the price. So I feel zero bad about buying a cheap corded router and returning it when the milwaukee one shows up in two weeks. Rant over, the router is a good price with the 5amp hour battery for $180.

Yeah... No...

I'm lucky to remember to even check the Clearance section most times I'm in there, and it's usually full of junk.

I'm not brave enough to try getting onto one of their computers, which is undoubtedly the best way to find deals..

I do like to read what you guys have found and check that out. I also post good findings when I see them to return the favor.

My local store doesn’t hassle me for using the computers. Some stores even have sit down ones for customers by courtesy or even stand up ones by checkout, put there for customers.
The price checker tool is labeled “public” so they shouldn’t care. I just tell them I’m checking some prices. If the specific person thinks I’m not allowed I just say ok and try again another day.

Interesting. I'd love to jump on a ladder to check out the top stock, but I'm sure that would quickly get me escorted to the exit...

Haha you don’t have to do that. I just look from the ground and find the items and ask to get them down. If nobody is around to help and I’m in a rush then I’ll grab a ladder.

No, I'd like to get on a ladder and look through the boxes that they mix random stuff into and don't label, especially in the power tools department...

Oohhh haha yea I’ve been tempted many of times to look through those. I’ve only done it once but didn’t need a ladder. There was a plastic bin of kreg jig stuff and I was looking for a specific tool that went deep clearance. Didn’t find any though. I always put stuff back neater than I find too which I think helps my cause haha.

Ordered one of these sets:

Screenshot_20210529-220356_Chrome.jpg

Internet #316137216

$149 (regular price is $259), so it's over 40% off.

The kit, including a charger, (small) battery, bag and blade set, is on sale for only $20 more than the regular price for the tool only.

I just realized that this isn't brushless, but I'm hoping not to notice. This thing will probably get extremely little use.

Stopped posting awhile back on here but had to come back to see if anyone was commenting on here about what I just experienced at my local store. Went to use pc price check and got a message stating that it had been retired with a link to hd.com. Very strange. Checked multiple pc's in the store and got same message on all of them. Any one seeing this?

I saw it on one computer, went to another computer in appliance section and the Price Check app was still there. Probably getting a rollout to every computer. Sux. I am on the East coast.

Used it last week before rudely being told to get off. The same person I asked to look up stock, told me she couldn't, so I did it myself. If it wasn't such a hassle asking employees that think its the end of the world when you give them a UPC vs a SKU, not realizing that is what is entered in their phone when the UPC is scanned.

hopefully a slow rollout

I forget the store numbers but there are definitely a few I’ve been to that have a sit down computer by the courtesy returns area. Also I’ve seen some stores have stand up ones in this area and by checkout that are specifically and clearly there for customers to use. My store had 2 but took them away during covid.

As others have mentioned....they took away the price checker thing which is the only “app” I ever used. I suspect they did this because they had too much hassle with customers. It’s the only logical explanation since I’ve seen many stores remove them, I’ve noticed more employees get upset with me using them (kind of like they were instructed that it’s wrong), and now the final straw of HD removing the price checker. This feature was super useful to Chris prices at other stores before making a trip to buy something that may be full price or may not even be there

if anybody learns a new way please message here or PM me. Thanks!

Got my oscillating tool yesterday, haven't even had time to open the box yet.

I also ordered two accessories for it. HD sent everything FedEx, in three separate shipments. "Free" shipping. I have no idea how they're (we're) paying for all of that, especially the three separate deliveries, boxing, etc.

Same here. There were two computers that you could sit at. Looks like the only options are to scan at the self check out out ask an employee to check with their handheld scanner.

Our home depot was also low on rigid. There was red and green everywhere, but just 1 end cap of rigid tools. I wonder what's up with that? I'm a little worried...I'm pretty heavily invested in rigid...
Still packed with rigid here. I can’t believe the clearance deals you guys get in other parts of the country. My local store has a little end cap for clearance stuff and I have never seen anything in it that I wanted. The only clearance item I have ever bought was the serpentine belt kit and that was in its regular spot.

We dont get much clearance either. The endcap was all the rigid stock. It was really bad. I wonder if there is a supply issue. Definitely no shortage of ryobi or Milwaukee.

THE END IS NEAR...as people stated before, the PCA retired at my stores. It will be hard to find clearence items and quantities at home depot stores. Looks like I will be going to self checkout to see if an item pennied out. DAMN!!

I did score a few Wyze security starter kits last week for a penny. That was probably my farewell gift from HD. Thank you PCA for your help and finding those unicorn and 75% off items.
