Was at Lowes yesterday, so walked through the bit aisle. not a single deal I saw online yesterday was in-store. zero clearance items in the whole drill bit aisle, but some of the items were available online at the sale price for pickup in that store. Weird. Guess my point is - take a look, but don't get your hopes up that online sale = in-store sale

Same here in MA, but I can't tell what the original prices were, so I don't know if they're a good deal.

The drill bits in the "Clearance" bins here have been barely reduced in price.

original price on the step bits I listed was ~$40/each, which I'd never justify in my life. but 4 for $40, sign me up

Shipping confirmation here too. Only one item was delayed, one of the impact sets, delivery date shows today (which I doubt).

Does anyone have one of those step bits in hand, and does it really look like it's made better than the box stores / HF ones?

BS and Lowe's sites seem to believe that a somewhat local store has a few.

For some reason, the price for the small one is $8.** for the store with none in stock, but the store that has them shows a price of $11.**. Unreal...

Mike, I ordered and received two of the Irwin step bits. They are about the same sharpness as the HF ones I have, but less sharp than the Greenlee. The tip and leading edge of the bit seem sharp enough but the trailing edge has a considerable amount of burrs on it, which probably won't have any effect on cutting. The Irwin has the cutout (where the sizes are located) formed in a semi-circle from top to bottom. The other brands seem to have this cutout shaped more like an L or V. I don't know how that will affect the cutting ability.

Thanks @Engine

I just found this interesting video, comparing many different brands. He starts with mild steel, moves to hardened (for only about half of the brands), then plays with some armor plate.

The Irwin shows up at 4:02.

Here's a snapshot of the speed results in mild steel. He thinks the Irwin would have been faster if it had two flutes / cutting edges like many of the others.

I like the pace of the video, the info he discussed, and the scientific method he used.

Would have been useful if he'd noted the single vs. dual flute designs in his bar chart.

Well, the store in Plainville, MA was supposed to have 7 of the smaller step bits in stock, but they're nowhere to be found. The employee who tried to help said they haven't received any since October. They've been replaced on the shelf with a newer model.

I looked at top stock, at all the end caps, nothing. I also dug through the Clearance areas, no luck.

VERY weird to see so few people wearing masks on Day 1 of relaxed restrictions.

I ordered the two unibits on Wednesday, and picked them up in store yesterday. Haven't used them yet, but the smaller one looks exactly like a Klein one that I already had.

For schizzles, I ordered a few of those bits from the store that claimed to have them in stock. We'll see what happens...

glad some guys got in on the bits - hopefully they're not ****. I've got 2 of each in my drawer, but no immediate projects planned to use them on. Also grabbed a couple wood bits while I was there

Bought 4 of these today. 27 were in stock. According to Brickseek they are on clearance @ $6.07. Website shows $34.98. Went to store and the shelf price indicated $6.07: Lithonia 4' LED Shop Light

Edit: Not sure why link is re-directing to Lowe's home page. Search "Lithonia Item # 1033999 to see it...

Not much of a deal by me yet at @ $27.97 with many in stock. For some reason the item number does not pull up the correct product on brickseek. Here's the correct brickseek: https://brickseek.com/lowes-inventory-checker/?sku=1000410793

Those are $23+ here, on BS and in the "Clearance" bin at my store.

They also still had plenty of Irwin drill bits (individuals), with full-price tags, in the "Clearance" bin. They can choke on those...
