Cleaning it quickly on a newly-installed (max surface speed) 8” wire wheel, I hit the pewter bolster, ruining the patina and leaving a pocky surface. It was late and I had been cleaning a bunch of all-steel items. I should have taped it off, or better yet, just used a scraper and hand-held brush.
