What are the dimensions of that Union box?
I see similar Union boxes occasionally, but not the length of the Bonney. Trying to maintain hope I will spot the right tray one day.
Note the rectangular depression where the label is, under the handle.
“Bonney” is actually formed there on mine, plus the addition of the under-lid clip. The Bonney handle is of a different shape, as well.Target of opportunity. What does the acronym TOO stand for?
+1!Both saukit and bmwrd0 get *****. Nice picking!

+1!
saukit, the head of those pliers in your #2 pic has something of the look of German imports to my eye, though the handles, Button’s cutters and the toothed pipe-gripping section seem American enough…really, no marks, eh? Can you post a pic of the other face?
Sadly, no - though I think a good bit of the original crinkle red is hiding in places. It had been heavily brush-painted black as found. I stripped enough off to find the interior decal, and could just see a bit of the red inside the clasps, where a brush couldn’t reach. Weighing the prospect of damaging the decal and possibly finding a lot of bare steel under the black, I opted to spray it. My only real regret is choosing Regal Red instead of Sunrise Red.
Yes, I do need to fill that hole on my proto body hammer board. I do have a spare 1429 picking hammer if that may suffice as a trade ?No, I don't have this one. Do you need it?
Congradulations... I think.Though we run our propane grill a couple times a week year round, I've never tried operating a smoker. It's always been on the "when I find the right deal" list and I've been thinking about building one myself for years.
Well, turns out I'm going to have to combine those two ideas, because this ridiculous monstrosity dropped into my lap this weekend.
That's right, it's a big ol' water tank and a wood stove strapped to a homemade trailer. The previous owner (a retired millwright / pipe fitter) started the project but decided to sell his house in our current crazy market and move into a condo. I found it on an estate auction website and just had to put in a bid.
$11.50 later and she was all mine!
Now all I need to do is cut the cook chamber and firebox, fit them together, cut a door, fabricate the innards, add a smoke stack, grind all my terrible welds, grind my welds some more, grind until it kind of looks like I should be allowed in the same room as a welder, and paint. I might be ready to cook sometime in the early 2030s!

Thank you very kindly.Target Of Opportunity.
Sorry, LesserSon, missed your original postWhat are the dimensions of that Union box?
I have a 7-5/8x21-1/4 Bonney-branded one, missing the tray. Oddly, I don’t find my Bonney in catalogs of the era.

Here’s a similar Union I saw somewhere but didn’t buy.
The handle on that Union was brown. I wonder how many colors they came in?

I think I should do the same. I recently noticed that if I tend to forget something, it's better to write it down and make a picture on the phone - this way at least we have it...
May be we should start a thread which should be locked at the top for extra trays and tool box drawers - we all have extras and also missing a lot ...

Or keep a document on your smartphone that lists all you have, and all you need or want. If you do a google sheet, it can sync between phone and desktop, and google will feed you better advertising.
I have one for all my Woodworking tools, and another for mechanics tools. Has kept me from buying a few duplicates.
You can load excel files directly on your phone, but then you loose the convenience of the sync’d files.I wanted to give that a thumbs-up, until you reminded me about the advertising...

What is a pad of paper?

As do I! I have my plomb, proto la and p&c inventoried and refer to them from time to time when needed! If the items are cheap enough, I don't pull the lists out , or I don't pull them out if I want to alert the seller to the fact that they have something I need to fill a hole.I have a pad of paper.
Spent $28 at Leesport flea this morning brought home a heavy cast iron 3-wheel rolling base (minus a wheel),
2 Yankee slot bits, a bitbrace slot bit, 2 nailsets (one marked Bridgeport), mummified Bell System Utica chain-nose, Harrold slipjoints, Winchester -Special- screwdriver, K-D 3/8dr impact driver (I thought I had a 1/2dr Porter-Cable…nope another 3/8dr); Bonney 27F DOE wrench, No1246 1-7/16 waterpump wrench reground to 1-9/16, No2 pipewrench, PH20 softface hammer; Herbrand 18x19mm DOE; set of drillstops.Thanks. I’ve had a couple of buddies suggesting it looks like a Richardson Bros saw. Did some poking into my reference books, and it looks a lot like the ca. 1867 pictured in photo 8 on page 13 of this PDF.VERY nifty handle on that WS backsaw, RTM!
It works out well for meIn reality, I buy everything I like and think is a good deal, and dump the duplicates on Smokeshow!
Just kidding. I usually end up needing everything in the end. Why, no, I am not a hoarder. Why do you ask?
