Nope...business as usual.

Honestly they probably have a couple years worth of inventory on some items (not all of course).

Remember when Renault had controlling interest in AMC? Renault left Jeep alone and even participated some in the design of the XJ (Cherokee).

Perhaps the new company will leave SK to keep on doing it's thing and who knows what's all in those little Philadelphia lawyer details of a purchase agreement as well.

For now it seems SK is just doing it's SK thing.

I emailed them about 4 weeks ago for a rebuild kit, just got a response yesterday so they are working through it.

I'm on my 5th week waiting for a warrantied socket.

Not as bad as on my 9th week waiting for a Gearwrench warranty socket. I'll never buy anything Gearwrench ever.

I waited something like 9 months for a Matco replacement ratchet a few years ago. A month or six weeks for a SnapOn ratchet this spring

They both eventually arrived, though.

I would still buy their products

All I can say guys about those warranty issues is this.
Call...
Calling is so much more efficient than email. It shouldn't be but it is.
Secondly...
Look around your area. You might be surprised who deals in SK tools. (On a good sized level)
Those places have no problem swapping warranty pieces.

Example...
I used to be pissed we didn't have an SK truck our only means to purchase was online.
Then on accident I found a place I assumed only specialized in body repair components and tools only to find out they're a huge SK distributor for half the state. They are about 10 miles from our location.

Don't be afraid to look around and ask.

I had a similar wait on an Armstrong, that whole deal was Apex moving factory's around at the time (before shutting down US production). There were a few threads on here about it.

A good reason to have several ratchets on hand.

And they owned Mack truck then sold them to Volvo.
A Mack is now a Volvo with a Mack cab, I suspect soon even the Mack cab will be gone.

Yes...but again in the tool world the sky is falling if something changes.
Nothing has changed yet with SK so until it does it will be business as usual.

Too many times people want to push the apple cart over while the damn thing is still behind the horse.

Quite honestly...I don't give a **** if SK is now Asian owned. What do I care or anyone here for that matter if a dozen executives get xyz from SK.
As long as hundreds/possibly thousands (when considering raw material vendors) are U.S. workers that's good enough for me.

SK is 101% U.S. made with U.S. material.

Until that changes...wrench on brotha!!!

I have various brand and drive size ratchets going back the '70s. The only name brand ratchets that have failed me were (IIRC) a V series 1/4 drive Craftsman (the detente ball fell out, and a 3/8" drive SK pivot head bent handle spark plug wrench (Craftsman replaced the 1/4 drive while the tool truck SK guy denied coverage due to falsely (imo) claiming that the ratchet was 'abused'. I blame the tool truck guy on that one. I miss the SK plug wrench to this day.

That tool truck guy was lazy or making a poor attempt at thinking he'll sell you a new one.

Guys like that usually don't last very long unless they've got complete blue sky of a certain area.
