And the mini split didn’t get installed today…. But I did get my pressure washer set up, the garage doors hooked back up, and miscellaneous electrical hooked up. Also - still need to buy some lighting.

Checked the brakes on moms 2017 Camry they are at 3mm. Will need to be replaced soon. Dad is angry they only made it 27,000 miles. In my opinion that’s good for brakes. Tires are at 4/32 so they will need to be replaced as well them and the brakes are original. In Virginia it’s 2/32 for brakes and tires so probably both need to be done before February when the inspection is due. Probably will throw some Yokohama tires on it or something we don’t like Bridgestone and the Michelin series for it everyone is telling me to avoid so I will be doing that. Probably will get OEM pads since I get a discount at work. Tomorrow I plan to rotate the tires on dad’s Camry. Change the oil and rotate the tires on moms car. And probably change the oil in my truck and maybe rotate the tires too.

Completed the disassembly of a microwave oven magnatron; this was more difficult than taking the magnets from a radar magnetron.
The magnetron put up a valient fight but it was overwhelmed by an angle grinder.

Both magnets removed without a scratch on either the magnets or my fingers.

This is what happens when you know how to work on stuff , you never get a break LOL and this is also why I live 600 miles from my nearest family member. they can pay someone where they are or it can stay broken.

I went in the house to grab a drink of water. Came back out and found one of the lights had stopped working. I figured it was the ballast. Replaced the ballast in the fluorescent light. That's no longer using fluorescent bulbs.
Put the LED bulbs back in and one doesn't light.
Luckily, a buddy has extra LED bulbs that he said I could have.20210904_154804[1].jpg

Haha. I don’t mind it really. My parents have always been there for me so I figure it is part of my appreciation for that. Honestly I love working on stuff. At least I know who is fixing it and not having some hack do it. When I was a kid and didn’t fix stuff yet my dad went to some sketchy shops and always seemed to get screwed somehow by someone messing something up.

Fixed an oops in the caulk and paint on the stairs. Installed all the plug plates in the stairwell. Scrubbed all the switches, timer, n plugs in the stairwell. Put away all the **** I dragged out to paint the stairwell. Cleaned the woodshop. Chucked a garbage can full of unused ****.

2/32 seems crazy worn for tires, here 3/32 is a fail and I replace them long before that because they get too sketchy on anything but dry roads.

I yanked the front end apart on my wife's F150 FX4. It had a hub bearing getting some play. Replaced both hub bearings with Moog and installed new Rancho 9000 adjustable struts.

Buggered about with the paint on the left third of the ShitBox Honda roof. Looks a bit better than the rest of the roof now....

The previous owner painted the roof of my dark met gray '06 Frontier a satin black due to paint checking. It's not very noticeable except when you stand in the bed. Not a fan of water based vehicle finishes.

Thanks. I definitely will. That is once it’s up and running . Guy kinda exaggerated on how long it set for because the last inspection was 2007.

I'm a little late to party. You will need a good set of muffs to start the boat. They basically feed water to the engine through the outdrive for cooling. The other posters are correct as you never want to attempt a start without muffs/water. It cooks the water pump impeller. If it is a mercruiser alpha one drive I have a video servicing the outdrive impeller. Check it out on the YouTube channel if you are interested.

I wouldn't be worried about starting and working on this unit first before purchasing the muffs. The impeller is most likely already shot and needs replaced. The impeller kits are pretty cheap. It's the gear lube that gets expensive.

More so important, check the boots on the drive. They dry rot and crack. If those leak the boat will sink pretty quickly. Welcome to boating!...... Where everything costs 3 times as much as it should! Cheers,

@409425hp; Great looking wall art. Definitely better looking than what I've hung. Btw, we had a '70 C10 1/2 T long bed with a 402 and TH400 from '01 - '07. That truck really honked when you put your foot into it. Wife loved that thing (it was her go-to DD believe it or not).

Really nice car. Curious on the tires if I’m seeing right the lettering looks yellow is that custom or did you manage to find yellow letter tires? Very cool either way and I love the car.
Nope. Just the tires look bad. I haven't been able to clean them up. Taking the blue off the front isn't revealing the white and the back looks yellow.... Very disappointed in this set of tires. I've always had good luck with BFG though.

Thanks for the compliments on it!

They look good. I would suggest adding a 1/4 turn ball valve before each hose reel. This allows you to isolate them if they have an issue.
Thanks Nutts,
25X50 shop and 18 air supply drops with the reels. Also counted 21 ball valves total so far.... But I do Need one at the ceiling reel. Have a 3/4in valve in the cart at supplyhouse.com I will inventory fittings and ad more to the cart. So far I am doing good and only One fitting had to be bought from Lowes. And yeah that was at 3X the cost of supplyhouse.

With all the shop air and house plumbing I have done lately, I find it cheeper to keep a lot of the fittings on hand. Even the barbed ends to make my own Hose whips and brass reducer bushings to make things fit. Brass fitting are just crazy in price around here, $8 for a barbed 3/8in hose to 3/8in NPT. I can buy a 10 pack on Amazon for $12 shipped,

Well last night I had trouble with the glider bearings coming out of there perches inside the swing bars....
Here is my recently repaired glider, back on it's end ....
0906211246.jpg

These are the swing arms for the glider, the glider uses 6 of these...3 on each side... 3 of the swing bars had the bearing pop out of there perches or holes, as you can see one here....
0906211258.jpg

So why is this happening? Well I need longer mounting bolts and a small spacer to make the arms more vertical between the seat and frame base. In the mean time, I took a punch and pushed some metal pinching the arm against the bearing races as seen below...
0906211300.jpg

I also used some metal epoxy around the bearing race and the swing arm for extra protection from them popping off again. A quick respray to keep them from rusting ....

0906211249.jpg
Got to hit the hardware store tomorrow for longer bolts and spacers....

Busted my Shattuck Industries 46-5806 Coax Stripping tool. It got caught in my over filled pliers drawer and broke. I'll try glueing it back together but don't have much confidence the glue will hold. I think I got it from Jensen tools years ago. I don't use it any more so not a big deal.

Lots of in/out of the garage making it possible to drive/park a car beside the garage on the otherwise unused patio. Not shown in this picture is the gravel and everything leveled out. Only things left to do are pull the post on the right, lay the wire down, mix/pour/trowel the concrete.

Should be ~52 bags which is 13 loads in my electric mixer. Zero $ spent so far as well - using up leftovers from other projects. Will probably have ~$200 in it by the time it's all done including dinner for my friend who has agreed to help with the pour.

Yesterday afternoon it was hanging a new 1-1/4hp Chamberlain garage door opener with all the bells and whistles on the double door our our 3-car. And bumping the original older chamberlain opener to the single door. Bought the house last year, lots of wear and tear and renter damages. motor on the single door missing and door chained shut. Its opener track was zip-******* to the motor mounting brackets.
So I half figured the single door motor was moved to the double when the double side died. So been meaning for 8mos to get a new opener for the double etc.
Shopping openers off and on for months. Couple weeks ago found Home Depot apparently clearancing out, $100 off, so I grabbed it and just got around to doing the installs. Havent set up all the internet / phone app features yet. Not sure if I will. But both doors are powered now and sharing the same 3-button remotes.

Today it was digging around finding my hammer drill and various bits, finally moved my gun safe to the master closet and bolted it down. Been unbolted since we moved it out of our former house in L.A. to my friend's garage, just over a year ago. Been sitting loose in our master for 6mos.
Got it secured in the master walk-in closet. Intend to replace the closet door with a steel exterior door in a steel jamb and then add a couple powered wireless deadbolts so when I set our security system the door bolts shut. Bolted safe in a secured closet in a secured house. Best I cn do for now, short of an actual vault room. Which isn't going to be this house.

Beat the edge down flat, cut out the old vent, and cut a patch to fill the hole. Need to weld in the patch. Then make the new vent chimney. Then cut and weld this top on to the lid of my ugly drum smoker.

Oil change on my 01 3500-HD with 8.1L engine . Gained 20psi of pressure even .

Then greased the front end and found even tho its got 81,012 miles it needs king pins cause no one could grease them before i owned it .

Then i installed a trailer brake controller mount and wire plug . Its the same as the 1 i just put in my k30 . And since i cant drive 2 at the same time i just swap back and forth now . . Clip and plug and go .
