Welding on the patch to close up the hole.

Needs to be cleaned up still but I don’t see any pinholes when held up to sunlight.

Started making the handle for the lid.

Spring handles are crazy expensive and something I’d have to order and pay shipping on. A $5 chipping hammer has all the parts I need, just in the wrong configuration.
Best idea ever. I'll be stealing this one a few times.

Cushman Truckster buttoned up. It stops now.

Also got the Honda C70 finished up. Starts off starter, runs, stops and electricals all in order. Still need a 6V flasher, someone put in a 12V... But took it for a ride last night and its a fun lil Scoot. Cant get used to the rear pedal down shifting though. Pretty neat considering it has not run in 47 Years.

Ya, had front toe/rear heel shifter on my '66 Yamaha Trailmaster 80. Ended up replacing it with standard toe/toe shift lever.

Wife and I are getting ready to do some serious trimming on the Dappled Willow (Hakuro Nishiki) tree we planted in the Spring of '19. This thing is now growing faster than we can believe. Trunk alone has probably tripled in diameter. This, and a Quaking Aspen, are the first ever trees that we've planted.

Anyway, that's the extent of excitement of our Sunday mid morning. However, we did take my wife's 370z out for an hour+ drive earlier this morning.

Changed the oil on the 914 and replaced the rear trunk seals (got caught in the rain earlier this week and realized that they leak). Removed trunk carpeting and insulated pad and hung them up to dry. Called it a day (by noon) and decided to goof off.

I got the front disc, caliper, pads and brake hose installed this morning. I would have done it yesterday but I was clearing brush wood from a fence line first thing yesterday morning and I was attacked by yellow jackets. I got stung on the ear and it made me feel dizzy and nauseus. I decided to take the day off and rest. The yellow jackets have been bad this year. This is the second nest that has attacked me this month.

Oil change and wheel rotation on my 2016 Toyota Camry.
Really have'nt been out in the garage since my Fianc'e left me at the end of April. No desire to do anything! So freaking depressed!
I've found that getting off my *** working on the projects in the garage gives my mind and hands something to do besides feed the depression. Im 3 years in from the end of my last real relationship and its better to be building than moping.

I had a busy day in the shop. I burned an image onto a cutting board for the wife and then I took the plunge and sprayed the candy green and clear onto the rear fender.

It's not perfect, but I'm pretty happy with the results. It should buff and polish pretty good.

I also took some pictures of the inserts I made for storing the new paint guns. 0926211814.jpg

Ate kettle corn all day from the church fall festival and greased dads Freightliner. Had to go out and buy another grease gun since the release button on the other one failed after the first use last year. I told him I wanted the Milwaukee and he lost his temper and started going off about how he wanted it greased today and I’m like well we can l’ll go and buy it because I’ve been wanting it anyway then he continued going off so mom told me just deal with the other one that is a copy of the one that broke on the first use. I would not have wasted $274 on it myself but that’s just me.

How many miles? What type of car? They don’t look too bad. Definitely not the worst I’ve seen.
2016 Tucson 1.6 Turbo. 69,990 on engine. About 29,500 miles on the plugs. Engine did not seem quite right. Small crack on electrode insulation on #1. All is running good now. That engine is known for cracked and broken insulation around electrode. Installed Denso's. We will see.

What brand was it? I've got the yellow one and it's been just dandy for a few years, so far.

Pulled the tongue ******** the utility trailer, drilled a hole for a grease zirk, installed a grease zirk and pumped some grease in it. Works much better now. Then I looked for the mower key that I dropped somewhere, no luck finding it. Used the leaf blower to blow out some of the dust that builds up in there.

Cleaned and put my toolbelt and some other tools from my kitchen reno away. Cleaned up a bit more of the mess I've created over the last couple weeks bit have much more to do. Lots of old wire to strip, scrap metal to sort out, and copper pipe to get.out of my way. Not likely getting to anymore Monday or Tuesday...have a couple VA appointments each day spread out between Madison and Milwaukee so got a bit of driving ahead of me...each an hour in opposite driving directions from my home.

Amongst a bunch of other projects I have to do in the garage this week I still have a dog kennel to burn and stain, some parts to a bench that need sanding and paint, and a rear suspension on an Escape to reassemble. At someone else's garage this week I have a pair of O2 sensors (heating elements crapped out) and an auto trans shift cable to replace, some MAF codes to sort out, and give the rest of his rig a good once over before winter.

Maybe if I stop sleeping for a few days I'll get it all done.

It’s a Flexzilla. They make various things like garden hoses and grease guns and other stuff. At least this one hasn’t failed yet and we switched the grease tube 3 times. The last one would not even eject the first one. Still I feel better about a Milwaukee or even a yellow one would be better.

Tried lowering the 1969 Mustang with lowering springs. It ended up being 3/4" higher in the front

With all the weight reduction (aluminum heads and intake), it must have taken so much weight off the springs it's sitting slightly higher.

Going to take the car for a quick drive tomorrow and check it one more time. I'm going to have to cut the springs..

Wife and I went back into CA to close out the move of my parents out of their previous house. 5 days of brutal labor and stress under deadline, rent back expired today. Folks 'transferred their flag' last weekend. We've already made 5 trips in 6 weeks with a 16' box van and still a mountain of stuff left behind. We took a 17' uhaul truck and there was far too much to transport nor enough time to make the 600mi round trip enough times in the time remaining, so wound up renting TWO storage spaces in SoCal near their former home, a 15x10 and 10x10, both almost full, before cramming the 17' truck full AND getting paid help from a former neighbor and filling his open trailer with trash. Folks not quite hoarders, wasn't a lot of nasty trash, food waste or insects. But they basically had kept everything they ever bought. My third time or so moving some of this ****.
Anyway, 5 days of brutal labor under the gun and a midnight drive home with an unloading the next day. And we'll have to make two trips within the next 25days to retrieve it all, or incur even more storage charges. No thank you. My name is now on FOUR such lockers, two there and two in Vegas. Combined cost clocking at $1000/mo. And each trip is costing about $800 incl. fuel and mileage charges. Next two will also include overnight hotel stays, since the house is gone.
Their former garage is now a clean slate for someone else.

Sadly I had MAJOR hand surgery 3 days before she left. It has since failed. I have limited use of my hands. Not to mention court cases that are pending. She's slowly destroying and killing me!

That's got enough knobs to go to the moon. What all does it do?
LOL, it's an inverter TIG welder. That amount of settings is normal for a machine like that. I've only got maybe an hour of arc time on this machine so I still need a lot more time to figure it all out myself :)

Nothing other than watch the Ryder Cup on the big screen in the man cave portion of the garage. Activities are a little limited as I'm in a walking boot for 4-6 weeks for a lower ankle tendon tear/arthritis. Trying conservative treatment before talking surgery. . . . . .

I'm 'dissembling' cleaning and lubing our desk/table top fans today. I'm put up all but 1 or 2 for the season. After that I'll try to make some progress on one of the various unfinished projects that I've got going.

Good luck Swanny! I've got an arthritic hip that's only getting a bit worse every winter. Could always be worse I guess.

The Blazer work continues. I want to change the rear flexible brake hose. I was able to crack the main front to back pipe loose where it joins the flexible hose, near the rear axle. The other end of the flexible hose is bracketed to the diff and has two steel pipes going to each of the two drum brakes. I couldn't get one loose. I stopped before I rounded the nut. Now is decision time. Do I really want to replace the flexible hose after all. It has been there for at least 20 years. Now I am seeing if I can find preformed brake pipes or do I make my own. This is assuming that I damage the pipe getting it off. As a consolation, I fitted the slave cylinder and brake shoes on the rear drivers side. This time it went twice as fast as the other side but still not as fast as the edited youtube guru.

Completed the reframing of a picture that had fallen from the wall in our bedroom. Mrs nadogail is pleased and I saved the cost of 6 matching custom frames.
