Awesome. Cool set up. I've never seen one before, not even an ad.
Looks like aa claims to have an ad from sears for these dated 1933

Looking through contents in ITCL, Sears comes up with Cross Country in the 1922 -23 catalogs, but only for oil products so far. Claims it is their trademark. But no socket sets found from any manufacturer (in ITCL, where catalogs are text searchable)Looks like that one matches the color scheme of the cross country set. Was cross country sold by sears as seller claims? I have a couple odd tools, just thought maybe a duro/indestro sub brand.

Every doorknob in my house is shaped to prevent me from using a regular screwdriver on the screws affixing them to the door. When they get loose, which they are not only wont but seemingly happy to do, I can only tighten them up with an offset screwdriver. Was disappointed to see them in the Tools You have but never use thread over on the other side.
Someone never uses offset screwdrivers? They are one of those things that, if you need one, there's nothing else.Hey gang, here is a fun find from last weekend. Found it at a junk emporium, antiques, tools both old and newer, plants, always a favorite place to shop.
It's a set of Indestro Right Angle offset screwdrivers, in varying sizes. Seen in the 1963 - 70 catalogs at ITCL, they were offered loose and as a set of 5 with a KlipTite bracket, as seen below (4770-5k) I didn't get the bracket, but may try to fab something, as it looks quite handy for organization. My set has a 4771A, 4771-4774. Was disappointed to see them in the Tools you always had but never used thread over on the other side. I have 10 or more of them, and only use one 1-2x per year, but lifesavers when I need one.

INDESTRO SUPER 5 Piece Offset Square Shank Standard Screwdriver Set Excellent US | #1843080893
Very nice. Very Uncommon. 5 piece set, Part Numbers 4771A, 4771, 4772, 4773, and 4774. There are no scratches, etchings, or any other signs of use.www.worthpoint.com
I passed on a few Duro tools and sets of tools on Craig's list. Then I got that little 3/8 metric ratchet set that I posed a while ago in this thread. I now regret passing on those. The set is just really nice. It's a shame they are gone. That hex drive set is a beaut! The more I collect tools, the greater my appreciation of Duro/Indestro gets.

AA site states Cross Country tools show up in 1933 Fall/Winter catalog.Sears comes up with Cross Country in the 1922 -23 catalogs, but only for oil products so far. Claims it is their trademark. But no socket sets found from any manufacturer (in ITCL, where catalogs are text searchable)
Where they belong! That’s why I’m throwing AA under the bus.
Wait, AA does tool addiction too?
Hi,I'm Mallen. It's been 3 days since my last tool purchase. It's been a tough couple of days. I fell off the wagon over the weekend. I mean literally. The wheel broke and I fell off. I went to the hardware store to get a new wheel. There was a wrench on the wagon that could have been used to put it on, but they had a nice looking set on sale so I bought it. It was a BOGO actually so I bought two. That was all it took to send me off on a bender all weekend. I bought a couple of toolboxes to keep them in and some screw drivers and a couple of hammers. I spent the rent money. When I did what I never thought I ever would. I sank to a new low. I stole my brother's tv and stereo and pawned them for tool money. That wasn't the new low actually, I've done that before. But this time was worse. I took the money and I went to harbor freight. I'm so ashamed of my self. My 3 year old found me in the garage ,passed out, face down in a puddle of motor oil with cheap Chinese tools strewn everywhere. My wife wasn't even angry at me this time. She just looked disappointed, calmly asked if the car was even drivable, then called an Uber and took the baby to her sister's.
I'm so ashamed!Wow! Harbor Freight? You DO have a serious problem!
