Found my propane line about 5-6" below the surface. Apparently the crew that put in the patio also found it since there is a dent it it from a pick. They dug around it for the French drain basin they put in.

Also got up close and personal with a shovel. The driveway settled and slopes toward the embankment it holds water after a rain hopefully this solves all of that.

So my wife ended up shoveling the rest of the gravel from the truck to the ditch while I set the fence posts yesterdayevening. I was trying to get everything done before the 3/4" of rain that was forecast for last night came through. Fortunately we got everything done by about 9:30pm. The heavy rain came through at 4am.

I ended up taking about 5 wheel barrow loads of the dirt from the drain to the flower bed where I put in the wall as fill. Of course one of the dogs jumped in that wet red clay this morning. Had to add some landscaping fabric to keep them out.

Worked all weekend on stuff, but nothing much to actually show for all the effort.

I did get most of the rails in on the fence. I still need to cut the holes into the existing fence to tie them in.

The greenhouse I'm planning on will be 12x16' and somewhat similar to this, but with a stone veneer knee wall, and as of right now clear corrugated roof, though glass is growing on me.

Decided to try to drag the garden area with a makeshift drag. All the rocks that were laying around and a couple logs. Worked well enough.

Also finally got around to cutting the existing posts for the rails. The f150 inverter is not up to the task, but I got it done w/o buying a cordless router.

Might have gotten more done if I hadn't run my finger into the bandsaw tuesday night. Its still rather tender.. Fortunately no bone or tendon issues. I Think I got the nerve though. 😒 slightly numb on from the cut and tip of the finger.

Sounds like you need an F150 "Lightning"

Damn, hope it heals well!

The greenhouse looks like a neat project

Decided to start working on the basement kitchen as well. Built the island box last night and set it generally in its place. I'll drop the slab on it tonight "temporarily"

I'm thinking I'll build the lower sink box and add the sink granite asap since we don't have a kitchen sink currently

Built another base cabinet today, set it and thr island box,, cut and installed the old granite and and hooked everything up in the basement kitchen. Its quick and dirty w/o face frames or doors but the boxes will be in the final version so I didn't loose anything. On the plus side we now have a semi functional kitchen until I finish (or more accurately start, then finish) the main kitchen installation.

Considering my methods I'm happy with this

Glad the finger injury wasn't worse and excited to see the kitchen progress!

Thanks. Definitely cut the nerve on the finger, it's a odd feeling on half of the tip (thumb side) is numb. if I just tap the side of where the cut was/is it's shooting pain down the arm. Needless to say I'm still avoiding using it as much as possible. Makes digging into a box of screws interesting..lol

Sneak peek of the kitchen

I couldn't resist setting some of the frames in place

And everything still to go in (minus the doors/drawer fronts)

Wow, everything looks great as usual. Must be fun to see it start to come together.

Yikes. Hopefully it gets better over time. My dad cut the tip of his thumb on a table saw probably 40+ years ago and still has some numbness / tingling especially in the winter for some reason.

Daily kitchen update..

Picked up the rest of the parts from the paint shop. That somehow took 4 hours by itself. 89 doors (one was dropped and had to stay behind) and a bunch of crown & base.

Also got one of the toe kick sections in and leveled. Hooray for lasers... the floor is about 3/8" out across the room so not horrible.

I sliced a chunk off the end of my right thumb on a big bandsaw in wood shop when I was in high school almost 50 years ago. They drilled through the nail on both sides of the cut and stitched across it to hold the cut end back on. Took decades for the nerves to sort themselves out. For a while pressure/pain/hot/cold seemend to be in the wrong firing order.

Hoping it magically heals itself. I realized it's the side of tbe finger I grab and feed screws/nails with. Nothing a few wraps of blue tape around the tip/cut couldn't help.

It's definitely feeling more worth all the effort at this point.

That may come down to the granite installers

Oh boy. Having your fate dependent upon 3rd party trades that are all running short of help being able to meet a short deadline?

Good luck lol.

On a more serious note, the kitchen is looking great! You've certainly put a lot of work into it so far. Maybe I missed it but why did you decide to build everything yourself? Not that that's a bad thing, just curious.

I'll have melamine countertops if it comes to it. They may or may not be edgebanded.

Cost was the driving decision to built it. It would have been somewhere between 65k and 85k in cabinets alone.
