What to do with raised area in tile install?

Planning rigid tile install in garage. Has typical raised 'step' on last 3' of length, at back wall, that is level with home flooring. Assume a female edge can be used like at overhead/garage door, but obviously the vertical portion is still exposed. Could paint this small vertical area, perhaps also stem wall, to a color similar to some of the tiles.
Anyone have issues with tiles on step up portion? Even with female edging, the tile edging would have to be back off the edge of the cement so shoe doesn't catch and lift the tiles.
Another option would be to paint the whole step area and use tiles only on the rest of the floor. I found some examples pics of this.
Thoughts?

This is the space;

You could just do an epoxy floor coating in that area and also hit the exposed few inches of concrete along the side walls. With the cabinets already there and the fact that it is raised it won't see really anything but some foot traffic.

I painted my step up and the thing is it looks great for about a week then needs to be painted again compared to the rest of the floor.

If you are putting ceramic tile down in there that is thin-set down then you could just tile that step also. They do it all the time in showers.

Now, if you want something to last a lifetime with no worries you could lay some granite or stone curbing there with a more polished top edge. So basically you would tile the top of the landing to the edge. Then you would have the curbing cut and install it flush with the top of the landing floor on the top then you would tile the rest of the floor up to the granite or stone. Then even getting kicked or banged on that stone curbing would last a lifetime. This would be a bit more expensive and lose a few inches of floor space in front.

Get a red paint and paint the vertical. You could do gray or black but I like vertical to stand out. then start with female edges and tile the rest, cutting off at the back.

I finally made a decision and installed my flooring.
I painted the raised area with a water based concrete paint. This area will get only foot traffic, so I figured a lighter duty product would be sufficient. Paint was roughly $500 cheaper than rigid tiles. Time will tell. I put some tiles inside cabinets to protect the paint from heavy items with sharp edges. Also painted the stem wall and filled perimeter cracks with self leveling caulk.

Thanks guys!
Really changed the overall look and feel of the space. Average to polished.
Finished the rest of the edges

Evidently my math was off and I ended up with an extra column of tiles. With extras ordered it worked out just right to use leftovers for inside cabinets.

Nice work using up the extras! Great idea! On my floor I did recently I should have ordered a few spares. I ordered 976 tiles and used every damn one of them! I had one Fubar cut on a red FreeFlow tile that required using a spare black tile I had, but at least it's under a workbench where nobody will know but me!

Looks good. We redid a place that had that raised bit. I used the safety yellow on the face of the lip as it was always tripping someone.
3-story condo with garage at the bottom. You parked and had to go upstairs.
