Trying to get good at wood working. I made some drawers for my work bench yesterday and a stand for my bench grinder this morning. I have a ways to go before I make anything for inside the house...

Got my *** handed to me, mostly.

Working on getting the other pair of 8' LEDs up in the motorcycle workshop area, only to find out I don't have the right crossbars. Run out and check HD, Lowe's, and Ace, HD is the only one with some, only for me to find out the bolt spacing on these don't match.

Ordered another pair on Amazon, now waiting on them to arrive.

Managed to accomplish not much today. Just frustrated, lol

Does it make me a male chauvinist pig that this makes me laugh? Lol
I mean the amount of work you do and you still keep your nails painted. Impressive..lol
Nah. It's just the way I am. I enjoy being somewhat put together, even if I'm doing something grubby. It's the rare day that I don't dig in the makeup bag before heading out to do battle. Even if it's yardwork or working in the shop. I think I took my cues from the 50's n 60's Monkey Wards catalogs.

Measured, remeasured and trimeasured the ID and OD of the ends on the useless, old, dryrotted hose that came with my freebie Hoover GUV Pro vac so I could order a generic replacement hose from amazon. I spent a couple of extra bucks to upgrade from the original 30' hose to a 50' hose, tossed in a 12" floor brush and a 5" mini turbo brush for cleaning the carpets in my cars. I don't mind spending $90 for parts on a freebie "like new" garage vac that originally listed for $300. Next is swapping out my old Craftsman wall mount garage vac for the new Hoover GUV and giving the old Craftsman to my boss. He already offered $100 for it, but I'm not going to let him pay me that for it.

Growing up, there were a lot of women in my family that wouldn’t even leave the bedroom until their hair and make up was completely done. It didn’t matter what they were doing that day lol

If it makes you feel better, my toenails are painted.

Had a run in with our 'elves' the other night.

As far as shop related stuff... I have an Aunt and Uncle coming in from out of state early next week. First time they've ever seen the house. Wife said I needed to clean the house before they get here. So of course this morning I started by cleaning up the shop. Took out a bunch of empty boxes that had been piling up., swept up all the saw dust from the current project, and put away a lot of tools that had been left around the place.

I did manage to step on something and have it get caught in my foot. Had to find the tweezers to pull it out. Then decided I should probably go put my shoes on. I usually put shoes on before going out to the shop these days, but I thought I was only going out there to quickly put one thing away. Didn't realize I'd spend 3 hours out there cleaning.

I'll clean the house on Sunday :)

Built this activity board for my almost 2 year old grandson. My wife was looking at them on Etsy and they were nearly $400 so I said no way, we have enough junk laying around we can make one. Bought some of the items, but mostly we just improvised.

The busy board came out great! We made a similar one for 2 of our grandson's last year and they still enjoy playing it.

I bumped the timer for the Christmas lights a little. It seems to be getting a little slow over the course of a week. It's only about 15 years old.

Got to run rc trucks with both kids for about 10 minutes before my daughter's truck got caught up in high weeds and tore up a gear in her ******.

I think I had the clutch set up too tight so it transferred the torque to the next weakest link.

$8 on amazon and the replacement will be here Thursday. I went ahead and ordered a replacement for the other gear that looks a little beat up too. I need to go take a second look at the planetary gear's teeth.

I also had to laugh. My son asked if we could upgrade his brand new truck to nitro when I blew past him running across the field. At some point I'll upgrade him to brushless and lipos.

I hardly ever used this stool so I lowered it, liked it so much I added some casters to it today. Wish the seat wasn't ripped.

Installed a ceiling fan. I wish there was a simple solution to integrating automation for the fan. For now I am going peasant spec w/ a pull string and rubber washer.

Battled with my old Volvo 240 to remove the sump/oil pan, 4 hours later I was victorious

Seems like they designed the car solely to make the sump difficult to remove.

Filed 6-7 weeks of mailings (bills, etc). Thought for sure I'd just done so a month or so ago. Might need to paperless no later than 2028. Well, maybe sooner than that.

Spent the morning / afternoon in the work wagon cleaning and polishing tools. Its been a few months since I last had a chance to clean my tools, so I had a bit of work to do.

Spending the evening after dinner swapping out old trailer lights for new LED lights and given the amount of surface rust on the frame, more than likely have a few ground issues to resolve. The old lights quit working last week, one light at a time, so I figured its time to just swap out the fixtures with new LEDs and to go through the wiring and fix any issues in the harness.
