Hi all. I have a question about my SK 40970 ratchet.
This was my dads, and before anyone asks, I replaced the pawl with a new DT kit (the old one if fine, and I’ve included the picture)
Question is; mine looks odd as compared to ALL the others I’ve seen. If you look where the handle meets the head, mine has NO “blended curve” into the head, rather it’s a “sharp” meeting of handle-to-head.
I’m not sure of the year, but since I’m 55, I’m guessing this is a 1950’s-early 60’s ratchet?
I’ve included a comparison picture (not my ratchet) and the original pawl, as well as the breaker bar I have (from my dads set)
Any info on this difference would be appreciated. I almost won’t use it- it’s got more sentimental value…
thanks I’m advance
