I won't be picking them up until later in March, but one is in New York (7 hours) and the other is in Connecticut (3.5 hours), I am going to swap out the transmission in Perk and upgrade the hydraulics before I go, this way I can use the new trailer that I will hopefully have this weekend.

Weird looking trailer, lots of space behind the wheels. Looks in good condition though. Must have been used for loading some special piece of equipment???

It isn't much different than the tilt style 20 ton trailers, they have the wheels almost centered on the deck, the rear overhang is 8' from the hinge. That camera angle makes it look even worse, but it will be very maneuverable for sure. They hauled a lull in and around New York City, the machine they hauled weighed 39,500 pounds, I don't plan on hauling anything more than that, most of my stuff is under 30k.

This is what a 20 ton tilt deck looks like, the fifth wheel pivot point will make the trailer turn even better, so I am happy about that. Then the hydraulic tail and air ride will allow for a 12' ramp that will have a fairly low loading angle.

Yes, it is a single axle trailer, they make a dual axle version as well. It is technically only rated to carry 5000 pounds, but that is for off road reasons. The tires are rated for just under 10k pounds each and the trailer only weighs 6500 pounds, so it should be able to cary 5 tons without an issue. Regardless, I wanted a short trailer so Perk could be a bit more useful, loading this trailer should be a breeze and it has fold down sides for forklift loading and tie downs (I am sure they will need some work) in the bed as well.

Almost got Perk buried in the mud, Dad was with me and he decided to walk behind the truck while I was trying to back through it, so I had to slow down, then I started going sideways. I could still pull forward, so I put it in high range to get some speed and he did it again, this time I didn't slow down, he ran. What a mess though, I am going to try and fill the water tanks at the Hill again, so I may try and wash Perk off while the tanks are filling, that way it is like I am not really using any water.

Got the quarter fender/extension thing on Perk, the cowl has a slight bend to it, so before it gets a permanent attachment and paint, I will have to do a bit of pulling. I didn’t take a picture of the finished product, will have to update in the morning. A9FE1DC5-CD9F-4CA7-88B7-43E946A5E0F1.jpegD413A9F7-1814-4094-894A-4E64EBFE799D.jpeg

That Was just to show where a typical axle location was on a tilt trailer,

I can’t use the ramp yet, no hydraulic lines, going to be a couple weeks before Perk will be setup to run it.

The red trailer looks to be a nice setup!!! Hopefully you don't have to do much to the actual trailer. It appears to be in pretty decent shape. Just curious on the price on that one....

Are you done buying trailers for awhile?????
