I'll argue that. I've seen more than one bearing ran through one of those, that has blown air through, and grease out.

The two cones that screw together and use a grease gun can easily leak grease out from the edges of the bearing, without pushing it through.

Anybody that's not a complete inbred ***** can see grease pushing out the topside of the bearing through each roller as you pack by hand.

I also see that people have a tendency not to thoroughly clean packers after use, and before the next one.

There's no way to get air in a bearing with the EZ squeeze. It has a cup full of grease under it and as long as you bled the air out when you filled it there should be none available to get in the bearing. It's easy to see the grease coming through the rollers on the easy squeeze. It's nothing like the one you showed that just uses a grease zerk and a couple cones.I've never used one of those but I could see them being problematic. The Ez squeeze style or the one that goes on top of the bucket of grease are pretty much fool proof.

x2 I wouldn't do it any other way, hell with probably 10 rigs around with grease able bearings the ez packer has already more than paid for it self.

The ones on the bucket at work will **** grease without the other grease filling in, then **** air, and splatter grease out of the bearing all over the place.

Maybe the follower plate with the rubber gasket is screwed up or missing. It sits on top of the grease in the bucket and seals against the sides so air doesn't get in.As the grease gets used up it slides down the pipe wiping the sides of the bucket and keeping the grease around the pipe.I've seen guys throw the follower plate out with the old bucket of grease because they don't realize it's there.I would imagine if one was pumping air it would be easy to tell by the spitting and sputtering, just give another pump or two and watch the grease come through the rollers.
