After seeing m6z's post on Saturday, I ordered a couple of small KTC diagonal cutters from Amazon Japan. I have large electrician's dikes, but have never purchased smaller ones that are designed for mechanics.

Either of these should be nice to throw into a small mesh bag if I want to take a few basic tools with me. Most of the 125-150mm cutters I have are precision electronics ones and/or have spring-loaded handles that make them less convenient to tuck away.

These cutters don't have the symmetry of my fancier tools, but they perform their job well.

This is from their twitter page.

Let’s hope they’re still on track. 😁
I was kind of expecting them to release something a little more solid by now, but yah, let's hope they are still on track *all the fingers cross*

And, I didn't ever know that they were coming out with a QR version of them?!? That has me very excited.

I'd like to know that, as well as the 72T 3/8" in a 1/4" Body mechanism 2527Z
I'm really hoping for a long 1/4 flex head, but I'd like that as well.

I have the 2725Z, it's awesome... or are you guys talking about it being released in the QR version?

Edit: nvm, you're talking about it being in a 72 tooth.

I know Mr Subaru and many others talk about how the Koken 36 tooth pawls/heads are so much smoother than any other 36 tooth.... and I can tell you (from a DIYer) that it feels very smooth.

Next up, Shinwa.

Shinwa 75564 18mm R-1 Loupe, 15x magnification.

Shinwa 62006 15cm Square.

Unknown if the square is made in Japan or China. The insert card had “Made in China” on it and on the plastic packaging they covered up the Made in China words with a “Made in Japan” sticker. Who knows.EFBFD566-8598-4AE3-9F44-B8A50DB91E83.jpeg

Does anybody have any insider info regarding the ETA of the 72T 1/4 stuff from Koken?
Late summer 2022 according to KokenUSA.

Marvel now.

Marvel MVA-200N Pliers.

Hands down my favorite pliers. Better that Knipex Linesman or any Klein variety. I’m making a video about how special they are.

I have a ( likely rebranded ) pair of these from Benner-Nawman
and use them for much of my 'little wire' control work. Outstanding tool - not at all comparable to linesman pliers as they cannot cut steel and not very good at hammering...

Australia has its own professional tool preferences. My two brothers, one an electrician and the other a cable installer only use these pliers.

I have since realised that this is the default professional pliers for professionals that work with wires. These Marvel's with cable shears can be bought easily over the counter and they rule over any other branded linesman or combination pliers for these kinds of trades. It seems to be a very Australian thing.

P.S. I just saw the post above mine. Indeed as noted, a very Aussie thing. (Although at that price, those Aussie pliers are likely Taiwanese copies...lots of immitators offered in Australia, but the Marvel's are the originals and will have 'Made in Japan' laser etched on the heads)
