Need input for garage door opener

I have a 30x36 shop with 6/12 pitch. Have clear span in the middle for a car lift and garage door follows the roof pitch. Had garage doors installed when it was built and didn’t have the funds for a garage door opener. I’m tired of opening it manually all the time and ready to get one.

I thought an direct drive unit would work but after looking at, it I don’t think I have have room. Needing some input on style of garage door unit to get. Could I just get a residental opener and mount it super high?

How big is the door? You may be able to fit a chain drive to lower a unit that mounts on the end of the torque tube. Looks like the situation they were made for.

Looks like you could also do a traditional center opener by mounting it to follow the roof slope but would need to adapt the brackets for the angles. You would need to add a stiffening strut across the top of the door. The jackshaft opener would be easier but cost more.

It looks like you have space for a jackshaft opener as is, but if not, couple one with the typical relocation/alternate mounting kit.

I've got two CHI 12' x 11' doors in my shop opening with Liftmaster belt drive openers. They've been in the shop for about 3 years and have not had any issues.

Does your doors slope upward and follow the roofline?

No, they do not.

No, they do not.

I don't think that should matter as long as you have the appropriate cable drums for your style track that counterbalances the weight of the door at all positions.

All jackshaft operators that I'm aware of can be mounted on either end of the jackshaft. The drive goes straight through the operator.

These Liftmasters weren't ordered as a RH and LH for example, and I certainly could swap one for the other.

As above, there is no "right/left".

Makes sense. Just don't have much experience with them and had mine installed... So, yes, it looks like there is room on one side for mounting directly on the shaft. And there is more shaft extension on that side which is needed too.
