So Amazon recommended these wrenches to me and I thought they looked interesting. Added them to my cart and next thing they're sold out. Wait for them to come in and again sold out on a day. Finally got my order through and they arrived so I thought I'd put some info out there in case anyone is thinking about them.

First off they are long, all of the Duratech wrenches are an inch longer than their gearwrench 72 non flex equivalents.

The overall design I like as the fixed end is slightly angled so that your knuckles aren't rubbing when you use it. Broaching seems a bit flat on the fixed end and bolt engagement will be tested tomorrow. Ratcheting is fairly smooth except the 22mm is very stiff.

The beams and profile are hand ground, in China for those that want COO, so each on is a bit off in the corners and such but the actual broach is center line of the beam.
Foam case seems to be fairly nice if very stiff and kind of hard to get the wrenches out.
For $50 for common sizes I had fairly low expectations but these are suprisingly nice I'd say. Again tomorrow I'm going to put them to work and see what happens.

(Also how are we supposed to upload pictures?)

I'd like to see 'em.

How long a beam can the ratcheting box end take? I thought they were great for convenience, then saw styles coming out longer and longer. Far longer than I thought the mechanism could stand up to. Yet they still sell.

It would be helpful if you posted a link to some photos. There's the option for adding files under the go advanced button. I'm happy with my Canadian tire ones which are rebranded Gearwrench and one of few Made in Taiwan tools I've seen under a Canadian Tire house brand. They've got the zero degree offset non ratcheting end like the made in Taiwan Mac box end wrenches and a flex head ratcheting end. Very reasonably priced when 60 percent off and if I have to beat on them to get the job done, getting a warranty replacement won't be an issue.

Here the pictures, thanks for the help.

I don't ever use the ratcheting side to break bolts free, the fixed ring has always held up, even on cheap brands.

Yeah they've sold out of stock 3 times within a day or two of coming back in stock.

They show in the "Duratech store" but it won't let me actually see them as says currently unavailable. Every time it kicks me to the in-stock flex heads at $45.99

We almost need an ASIN.....

No link I post will take you there until they're back in stock. Their part number is DTLFHW09M.

I've used them for a couple days now, ratcheting is pretty good. Not a lot of back drag, once the bolt just spins back and forth it's well below finger tight. I do like the slight angle of the fixed box end, no knuckle dragging. Just want more sizes, but the sizes included almost match up to SAE equivalents, 8, 10, 12, 13, 14, 16, 17, 19, 22

What are your overall thought on those....I have been looking for a set.....seen the flex combo.....are they worth the money for occasional use?

If the before mentioned sizes work for you I'd go for it. I've only had them a week so I can't comment on durability but Amazon should step in to make the warranty right worst case.

Thanks for the screenshot. At least I know what to look for. Only metric, or have you seen SAE as well?

Sent from my IN2015 using The Garage Journal mobile app

I realized what's going on-- it's one of those "single" page listings then once in the product page you can select "size" or "style" (it's bolded text, on desktop site). Yesterday there was just nothing to select because the system knows only 1 style is in stock

What set did you get OP?
I lost my extra long double box gearwrench, and l'm not looking to spend $30.00 for a new one.
l was looking at the Duratech one for ~$10.00.
Are the Duratech's holding up well for you?
EDIT to add link

I don't use the ratcheting side for breaking things free so can't comment there. The fixed end held up fine but they were a little too long for me so i don't really use them. I had the same issue with the matco double box ends made by armstrong.

Well my 15 mm showed up the other day.
Haven't actually had the need to use it yet but overall I mean for $10 it seems nicely made.
I like the length on it not sure about the offset yet I think it's a good idea the only way I can see the offset possibly an issue is if you were using it on a serpentine belt for the tensioner in lieu of a serpentine belt tool.

I actually might not mind having a whole set of these I don't know? The thing is though the 15 mm is the only one that is sold separately. Also they do not even make an 18 millimeter. Well don't take away my man card but I guess I got enough wrenches for now.
Oh by the way I found my old 15 yesterday kind of figured I would once I bought a new one. Still keeping this one though! 😂

Too bad they don't even make an 18 mm my car uses 18 a lot.

Yeah that's an annoying one for me as well. Same reason I don't consider Toptul when buying tools, skipping sizes is obnoxious and I always need those sizes it seems.

Does anyone make a double box end (one end fixed, one end ratcheting) that is not in the XL format?

That sold fast. It will come back in stock I bet. When I thought the 21 would be a nice addition, I had just done GM suspension work, 15 18 21 were all used. Funny how those are the skips in the set.
