This ratcheting tap and die handle got me out of a jam this past weekend when I finishing up my transmission swap. Luckily, my local Northern Tool had it in stock.

This one is from Klutch, but I've seen it sold by Gearwrench as well as some other brands.

I also had some Ernst wrench organizers delivered which really helped free up some space in my wrench drawer. The plastic trays that I was using previously ate up a lot of real estate.

In other news, I was digging through the back room in my garage to see what was left by the previous owner of this property. I found a Mac branded composite tool cart under a pile of junk. It turned out to be in pretty decent shape once I washed all of the dust, spider webs and mouse droppings from it.

It looks like Mac still sells this cart, or one that's similar to it. They also still sell the metal drawers that mount under the top storage compartment.

Been watching for a sale on the 20 gallon oil drain so I picked one up yesterday. Regular $179 and got it for $129. Also picked up a set of wobble extensions, for the price you can’t beat them……….are they as good as Snap-on or other brand, for 14 bucks who cares 🤣
Also grabbed this power washer fitting kit from Lowes.

Looks like it is now out of stock on Amazon (though there are many similar listed), but this laser level I think is the best $19 I've ever spent (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08GWV5FL1/?tag=atomicindus08-20). I've used it on a tripod to level 8-foot fence panels, an indoor projection screen, string light mounting points on posts, and leveling cabinets/pictures. It's hard to believe something this small and this inexpensive can be so effective. As you would expect, it is not super-bright at distances for outdoor use, so I had to level the 8-ft fence panels in the late afternoon/early evening when the sun was less bright, but it worked great.

It's only 2.5" x 2.5" (about the size of a 10' measuring tape):

That MAC cart is actually a nice quality cart, even being composite. I bought two of them about 20+ years ago and still have one of them in which my plasma cutter resides on with the lower shelf loaded with Miller Passport portable welder and various other welding supplies.

It seems to be a decent cart and I'll definitely get some use out of it. The MAC website says that hold up to 150 lbs. per shelf.

I've wanted a simple cart just to wheel between my toolbox and the driveway. The money that I was going to spend on a new cart can go towards one of their add-on drawer units.

Matco Wednesday haul from yesterday. Lots of promotions going on this month. You got the screw extractors free with the left handed drill bits. I already had to use the drill bits to remove a broke off screw in a license plate hole. Common thing I have to deal with lol. Carbide burr set was recommended by my coworkers personally don’t see a use for them in automotive but we will see. Two pairs of socks and hand cleaner.

Also had Snap-on Thursday today as well but the new guy keeps asking questions and needing me to repeat myself every time so I totally forgot to put them in my box or take a picture lol. He went on the tool truck and bought tons of stuff but returned it all after his girlfriend yelled at him lol 😂. At least he does have tools though even though he isn’t allowed to work on anything yet till he gets the paperwork down pat. I bought two 1/2 ratchets with a hard handle in black, and three pocket pry bars which are finally back in stock. Pictures posted tomorrow.

So what’s the deal with those socks? Are they pretty sweet and hold up to steel toes?

Oh yeah. I like the Snap-on ones too because they work well in boots. Main thing these versus Snap-on is these Bamboo socks are totally better at odor protection than the Snap-on. I still buy both but these are my go to for the odor protection.

Not much in the way of “tools” per se, but more what I would say are new “equipment” arrivals at the farm:

20’ Gooseneck stock trailer in decent shape. Needs tires, lights, and a bit of welding repair, but I got it for $2500 when similar trailers in similar condition have been selling for around $6500 in my area. I may do a fix-it thread in the fab/welding forum when the time comes.

2013 Silverado 2500HD with the 6.0 - traded the wife’s Tahoe for this, our new “farm truck.”

84” Deere smooth edge bucket for the Kubota skid steer. The skid steer only came with a tooth bucket but I wanted a smooth edge bucket for finish grading. This one popped up on marketplace last night and I sent the guy a message like 30 minutes after he posted it. He had it listed for $550, I told him I wanted it and drove 1.5 hours yesterday afternoon to pick it up. He ended up taking $500, so I’m pretty thrilled with it. It’s practically brand new.

Milwaukee M18 Fuel grinder. Really needed this last weekend to fix the exhaust on dads truck. Will have to do the other side eventually so will need it again. Also have to cut a mirror bracket off with it since it’s very rusty so I’m definitely going to use it. I ordered the tool and battery combo so I didn’t pay for the battery separately as that would of been crazy expensive but I didn’t expect it to come packaged separately. Still very happy with the purchase. Another great Milwaukee tool though I do like the design of some others better but it’s best to have the best of the best.

It was the most expensive thing I bought this trip. $174.95 don’t think the 8 piece set was on sale but they had some other smaller ones on sale.
That's a little chunk of change but it you don't abuse them, they will last you a very long time. Carbides are a worthwhile investment.
