Been lucky so far, 1/2" of slush from what I can tell in the dark. Just above freezing at 34. I imagine we will get some white **** today

I haven’t ventured out yet, but the city plow just went by my house. I am probably going to start my cleanup rounds after lunch. I suspect it will be about over at that point.

Sounds like you're fairly well prepped for the white stuff. Finish the moving today? Or is it too late? After that, finish the office?

Orion, what size Ford is your tractor?

Unless you boys live in the little lower left corner, One-eye says it's gonna snow all day. It just finished up snowing round here.

Nope. I'm going to ask if the moderators will ban anyone showing pictures, or mentioning the dread white stuff until after I get the roof tin on Momma's She Shed.

So after you get the cold dandruff moved around, what's next on the task list?

The temp is higher but reminds me of ice storm, non stop drizzle since yesterday afternoon. Few degrees lower and we would be iced in. So far no snow. Go just north of Bangor and they have plenty of snow

My Buddy had to plow the driveway at his Mom’s house and there was close to 24” of heavy wet snow. He got stuck three times and he said there was lots of dirt mixed with the snow.

I am at the SG and there was probably 8” here, now it is about 6”, I kind of plowed the front area, not touching the rest, I think it is going to melt off anyways. The gravel just peels up when you hit it with the plow cutting edge. I may head home and just call it a night, I fed Chuck earlier so I am good. It has been a long couple days.

Still spittin' white **** here but temps above freezing all night so not much accumulation. Western Maine made National News with the dump they got. Good place for it. Rain and 40s predicted for next Friday :) Weird weather

Strouty will Chuck [ever] be able to be a "Truck Buddy" you know how us Dog lovers are? Is he docile and obedient enough to hang with you while you go about the business of pushing that frozen $#!+ around? That would open up lots of bonding time for you and him and maybe get the GF into the fray with him, or is that a bad idea on too many levels to get into? Sorry about a question filled post but you know how enquiring minds are, And overall you are beating the beast back, pretty consistently for quite a while now! (y) Harry

I don’t think he would be a good truck buddy, he is more like a cat, except he uses the liter box more. He would probably be fine traveling between locations so he could be closer to the action, but I need to build some enclosures for him to be safe.

One of my biggest fears was snow collecting between the pallet rack and the building, as of last night it looked decent. I don’t know if snow melting off the roof will be an issue, but I think it gives me a couple more weeks before I “need” to make the roof for the racking.

Today was a bust, this morning I took the quick way down the front steps, didn't fall, but wrenched my back and neck saving myself. I see the chiropractor tomorrow anyways, but I have had a heating pad on my left shoulder and neck almost all day. I can nearly move without causing things to lock up tight as a drum. I have used my massage tool too, it helps, but only for a bit. It was a good day to take it easy, just wish it wasn't for that reason and hopefully I can get it sorted pretty quick, I still have a lot to do, this snow isn't going to go away without some help.

Ug, sorry to hear about the fall. I have done something similar in years past and it *****. The one that sticks in my mind was racing out the front door to head to the airport for a work trip, and the step was a sheet of ice. The back was tensing up on the way to the ground. I laid there for about five minutes before I could even move. Still had to go to the airport and go on the trip. It was a painful trip...sitting on the cramped airline seat for five hours and then having to get up and do all the other work stuff.... Even tho is was meeting stuff, not actually physical work.

Regardless, it's painful. Hopefully the heat and the chiro help work it out ..

This is a rib out of place, I have this issue way too often, but it has to do with an old injury. There is essentially nothing that I can do myself to fix it, the chiropractor beats the **** out of me, then I usually have to see him another time or two to keep it from moving out of place again. My appointment is at 9:40, going to suffer until then, then suffer differently afterwards. I am hopeful that I can get an appointment on Wednesday, that should get me through Christmas. I just hope he isn’t taking a couple weeks off to go somewhere warm.

First appointment always *****, almost feels worse, have another one on Wednesday, that one should make things feel better. I can at least function, around 50% capacity, but something is better than nothing. Going to try and do things that don’t require too much effort.

I am over at the SG moving things around, trying to clean up some of the snow that is now frozen and fueling everything up so I can take the transfer tank out of the F-350. I have to get the sander ready, we are going to get either rain or a wintry mix on Friday and Saturday and I suspect it will become an icy mess. My neck and shoulder are moving, but they still hurt, as I expected, but being able to do things is great, yesterday sucked.

First- Hoping ya feel better.
Second- Y'all's weather is way drunk and on the way to the Southern ends of Texas.. this freezing thing is foreign to us.
My kids on a rig in West Texas and facetimed last night telling us they're expecting 6'... NOPE.
Third- Gonna be out of pocket end of the week, so.. Merry Christmas a little early.

Every time I go to Long Island, NY, it always surprises me how many palm tree shops there are, they sell a ton of them, guess they have to be wrapped up for winter, but not something I would expect in NY. Good luck with the cold.

Palm trees... large roach hotels... no thanks.
Yeah. Coldest night supposed to be 24'. Weather guy says dry one this time.
Last two major "cold events," the problem has been ice/ice storms. See what happens this go round.

Ice is no fun no matter what.

I decided to try and use the Cat V80 to get the IBC tote of waste oil out, surprisingly it had no problem, I thought for sure I was going to have to sand the area. Since I knew I could now get the tote inside the shop, I pulled out the trailer I have been (well, technically haven’t been) working on, at least when I put it back, I remembered to lift the arms up for both clearance and to help remove the last reel brake assembly. And, the Blurb’s defrost function is working fine again, go freaking figure. I may do a bit more investigating before putting the mail in the coffin. No matter what the engine harness and some of the other wiring needs to be replaced.

I have abused myself for most of my life, I just turned 46 and I definitely feel it now, can't wait to understand what another 15 years will do to me. I am setting things up so I don't have to do the stupid things without equipment, I want to continue to do things without being limited by my back or whatever is hurting me the most.

It sneaks up on you fast. I can't believe i turned 53 this year. I think i will still be able to keep moving another 15 years, but realistically i'm probably only good another 10 or 12.
