Need some help getting into a Salzer Momentary Switch to get it off a Fenner Fluid Power Unit.

Im swapping out a 3 phase motor for a 1 Phase for my 2 post lift, the new motor, has no switching on it, so I wanted to move this nice momentary switch off the OE pump's 3 phase motor and onto the new Chicom POS.

I cant get the shroud off this thing, because I dont know where or how its " clipped " or attached. I have fiddled with it for near a half hour, googled it, nadda, I dont want to break it, because its a nice switch and exactly what I need... I can see, that once I get the yellow top piece off, there are 4 screws holding the switch to the steel cover off the old motor, just need to know how to get the yellow " hood " off this thing without breaking it.

Ive completely molested this thing to the point of breakage with a screw driver, and cant find the sweet spot to get it to release...

Anyone ?

Switch may not be rated for a single phase motor.

Switches have higher rating on 3 phase...

Is there a make and model for the switch?

for motor circuits you have to look at the HP ratings NOT the amp ratings.

that 23a rating is for 380-440v

regardless we need the HP ratings.

ive been searching for the product sheet for the switch but cant find it.

Says it should pull 6.3 Amps

Im aware that 6.3 Amps 3 phase is not the same for single phase, but I also dont know the math conversion.

I wonder if there is no spec sheet, because it might be a contract item ?

Its captured under a lip 360 degrees around, I tried to remove it like getting a tire off a rim, also I tried prying it up and off with no luck, allot of other similar switches like this, has screws, not sure on this one...

It looks like there might be a screw right in the center of the handle. See if maybe the little round part at the very center might come out.

again, for a motor rated switch, you need to look at HP ratings NOT amp ratings.
are you running this @ 240v or 120v?

if 240v, then youre good to go as max HP @ 240v is 3HP but....

if youre running it at 120v, then its a no go, since the motor is 2HP and max HP @ 120v is 1.5HP... sounds like youre running it at 240v so you should be fine.

This is the manual for that switch: https://www.salzergroup.net/documents/rotary-switches.pdf Look at page 28, there's an exploded diagram showing how it's fastened together. It appears the front bezel should snap off, exposing the screws underneath.

Where do you see that in there ? Thats the same manual I linked to above and it looks like there is a screw holding the knob on first ?

again, for a motor rated switch, you need to look at HP ratings NOT amp ratings.
are you running this @ 240v or 120v?

240v, sorry, never occurred to me that anyone ran 2hp or the like @ 120v !

Yeah, started at the slots, also tried to pry the two different yellow layers apart from both sides, just short of ripping them in half... the center of the switch, where its got a bump, and youd expect to find a screw, is solid cast, with the rest of the " knob ". Its not a red dot pushed on top of a screw head, its all one piece... which is why Im having a hard time getting it apart, with damaging it.

Thanks, I found that too, if there is a screw, its hiding under a cap.

I just studied that center of the switch where youd expect to find a screw, I picked at it with a box knife, and a small screwdriver, thinking maybe they know how to make a screw trim cap, that is near undetectable when installed ? With a magnifying glass, I still cant see a seam, but tomorrow I will get a pic out of the shop and go after it. Maybe I will move onto a drill bit, otherwise I gonna ruin it trying to pry it apart, nothing to lose at this point,...

Well, yellow and red weren't made at one time interlocked both ways.

Will the yellow circular flange unscrew? They look to be two separate pieces.
