Which post are you referring to? Both the bench and the shelf are 2'x8'. My truck is too tall to fit in most garages. The daily doesn't deserve garage space. I thought about it as well but I wouldn't ever pull anything inside. Luckily my driveway is shaded most of the day for working on things.
