Ready to Start a Build, but No Idea How to Get Started the Right Way

I am finishing building a shop right now.The price of lumber and lots of other materials is crazy and going up everyday. Not a good time to start a build unless you have to. Good luck.

    Above 1200 Sq/FT Garage Refurb®

Good idea on the 2x4 block under the lights. I think that I will do that in my new shop addition with 18' high ceilings. I want to do a metal roof also. Fantastic thread!

What a great job leveling a very screwed up floor. If you quit firefighting you could be a carpenter. Again great job. Eric

    Tooling organization

I installed a 8500 also in my garage with a 8 ft high 16 ft wide door. It works beautifully. So much quieter than the old chain drive. It also automatically locks when the door comes down. I will install one when I get the add on to my shop done with the 2 post lift. This way the garage door...

Portable heater - electric or propane

I live in Montana and my garage isn't insulated yet. I just needed something to warm a 24x32 with 10 ft high open ceilings up so that my hands didn't freeze. So I got a propane 30,000 to 60,000 BTU forced air heater for $78 US shipped to my house from Walmart.com. It works very well. It lights...

    Recommend me a MIG welder

I did a ton of research before I bought my Miller 211. I love it! It runs rings around the chinese Mig that I had before. I like to be able and run 120 or 240 Volt power. Mine isn't the newest model so I got it last year with the rebate and a free spool gun for $945. Well worth it. Eastwoods...

The Derelict Ranch: The New Derelict Garage

Love your thread. You are getting me inspired to add on to my Garage with a lift. Your are a hard worked Fergus and do great work as well. I was laughing when in you were talking about the cold winter weather with 2 weeks of below freezing at night. At my house in Montana this year we had...
