    What your Dad taught you,

My dad taught me to always lock a car door from the outside, when you used to have to use a key, so you would never lock the keys in the car. With the newer key fobs I still press the lock button from outside the car. With the newest proximity, auto-unlock, keys I guess it really isn't an...

What is north on a plat?

Since there are bearings and distances, N ** ** ** W, **.**', it appears as though those are the dimensions of the parcel. Surveyors use the N ** ** ** W designations(bearing) and they are based on the known bearing of some existing, retraceable, line. That retraceable line is know (in my neck...

    Nick Offerman's Wood Shop

This is another tour of his shop with Adam Carolla. It's more Adam talking, but you get more of a tour, and I happen to think he's funny. https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=tu4_y8VNGJg

    Craftsman 12'' King-Seeley Band Saw

Well, I found it on my phone so I'll post it anyway, maybe it will help someone else. They were $16 each, don't let the $43 fool you. I ordered two of them just in case....

    Craftsman 12'' King-Seeley Band Saw

If you need to replace the lower bearing assembly I recently did it on the exact same model. Let me know and I can get you the info. I ordered the bearing from a place in Portland Or. and had it machined locally. When I was done it cost about $150 total.

    Youtube videos worth watching?

I don't think I saw this one listed yet: Frank Howarth, kind of an arty-farty Norm Abrams.

    Raised bed thoughts?

I considered making raised beds out of wood but thought of something different. My next door neighbor is an underground contractor, so I thought concrete pipe. He had some surplus 48" dia pipe in 24" (or 30", I don't remember) sections so he brought them over. So far it's worked well for...

Show us your cool, "old" drill press

Thanks, good to know. The closest thing here to a "decent" hardware store is OSH..... Maybe one of the local ag equipment places will have it.

Show us your cool, "old" drill press

Just finished painting and reassembly on my Cman drill press. I think it's a Model 100, vintage late 40's-early 50's (103.23130). I still need to go through the motor, which is also a Craftsman, but it runs and I wanted to start using it. Also, anyone know where to get a replacement nut for...

    Tools of Japan

Yep, it was pretty close to that, except I didn't have the wheel chock, if that's what it is. Also, the carrier I had was more of a circular duffel bag style. I'll try and remember to get a picture from the home computer.

    Tools of Japan

These adjustable wrenches are from the tool kit from a Toyota FJ60 Landcruiser. I sold the cruiser but forgot I had this in the tool box instead of in the vehicle. I kind of feel bad since the new owner doesn't have a complete set of the original Toyota tools, but I hope to get another...

    Vintage Craftsman Table Saw

Thanks for all the info guys. If I could have got it for $40 it would have been worth it, just to have it. By chance someone gave me a Ryobi BT3000 (needs a good cleaning and a couple of parts) which I was going to use for actual wood working until I could afford a decent hybrid saw.
