"other" uses for a 2 post lift

Proof of concept- harbor freight ramps across arms allow driving lawn mower onto arms. Now that I know it works I'll tie the ramps together, reinforce them with angle iron and and make a solid base to anchor ramps to the arms.

    Let's See Your Garage Dog

Hi Jim, thanks her name is Kitsune(Fox) - She's a cattle dog - about 40lbs, loves hanging out in the barn, but have to keep her tethered as she chases all the rabbits and deer.

What did you do "IN" your garage today?

Good stuff, Here's the one I made, all 2" square stock, makes it simple to hookup/unhook and store.

2 post lift placement... backing in?

My garage is 38' deep, my 2 post lift is a Bendpak 10,000 lb Asymmetric lift. I went with it forward in the bay - about 12' from the front wall, for the exact reason you stated, it makes it easier to have projects on the lift and parking behind. The one thing I did consider prior to going with...

Going to pull the trigger on a 2-post lift…what brands are good quality?

I have had great luck with Bendpak lifts...ordered via asedeals.com both times.

    Automotive Lifts

Yea, bite in my photo above, the supports in my 10,000lb 2 post lift are enourmous compared to the 4 post and the locking mechanism is equally overbuilt. I put the 4 post into service in 96, and finally bolted it down this year. I have the optional casters to roll it around, that is handy, but...

    Automotive Lifts

I have both a 2 post and 4post from bendpak, both are excellent quality and work well for me. I had the 4 post first, it is great for stacking cars and I did quite a few projects and repairs on it, but the two post lift Isa game changer for mechanical work. Please help Bendpak 4 post purchase and possible order change......

Good choice, I have an HD9ST as my vehicles and available space were smaller when I originally bought the lift. I have had vehicles on the lift that rub both post gussets on the way in and hang over front and rear, so I would definitely go bigger since you can. When I moved the lift between...

    Mower recommendations

I have 5 acres, mostly field that I drag a 60" rotary cutter around with my John Deere 2520, but for the bluegrass areas I have a John Deere X324. It's a good compromise between a lawn tractor and a zero turn as it has 4wheel steering for maneuvering, but can also handle my 48" snow blower...

    Diamabrush

JT - thanks for starting this thread, I have a similar project, my main barn floor is about 1200 sq feet and has a pretty rough broom finish that I would like to smooth out and put an epoxy finish on. It sounded like a 7" grinder may be a bit on the small side for my project, is there...

Which 4 post lift to buy?

I bought a Bendpak HD-9 several years ago, it is easy to assemble/disassemble (I moved). With the optional dollys it is easy to roll into position or move to another spot in the barn. The lift is fast when run on 220v, can't comment on 110 as I never tried it. But the best part is the...

    Garage Ventilation

Thank you! Yes I plan to insulate and hopefully heat the building this winter. Insulating the main building will be pretty traditional, batts on the walls, and after I put some drywall up on the ceiling I can blow in some insulation on top. Its really the hip addition that I'm just not sure how...

    Garage Ventilation

Hi All, I bought a barn with a house on the property and it has a kid of odd configuration so I need some ventilation ideas. The original structure was a 32x36x12(bottom of the rafters) rectangular building with gable ends and small soffits along the East and West sides. It seems to be a bit of...
