    Where to buy PB Swiss

I got my PB Swiss from Small Parts via Amazon. Their website indicates they ship int'l. Quick shipping, and no complaints about their service.

    Favourite Electrical tape?

If you're not an anti-WalMart zealot, they have it (Super 33+) in the automotive wiring section (or maybe the paint section).

    Gates Krikit Belt Tension Gauge

No personal experience, but a lot of Porsche 944 guys use them in lieu of the mega-$$ factory tensioning tool. Google for Porsche 944 and Krikit and you should find some feedback.

    Diagnosing Air Compressor

I bought an old, large, and pretty ugly compressor around a year ago, and lately it's been giving me some issues. It typically pumps up to 60 or 70 psi without any issues, but towards the end of the pumping, when it gets to 80-90-100psi it starts to makes a stalling or groaning kinda noise...

Can any body identify this vintage 1/2torque wrench

Tohnichi would be a Japanese name and company.

    More eBay Madness

Not sure if it's a typo or not. Shipping in the UK 2 GBP, shipping everywhere else $1K, so maybe he just wants to make sure it's worth his while to fill out the customs form.

    Vintage Snap On Compression Tester

I'm getting ready to part with a Snap On Vintage Compression tester, as I've decided I want some SOEXM or Supercombo wrenches. I snapped some pictures to list it on eBay, and figured I'd share the pictures here. Back of the manual says 10-14-1948, so I assume it's 1950's vintage. Any...

Ikea Assemble-it-Yourself Car, or Elaborate April Fools Day Joke?

It is an old VW, probably a GTi. The picture is from a VW advertisement from back in the day. VW Genuine Parts or the like. The link at the bottom is to the Ikea commercial. I'm sure it's April Fools.

Drilling holes for lift install - which drill to buy/rent?

I recently installed my Rotary lift in 5" 3500psi concrete. We started off using my friends DeWalt 18V--it drilled 2 holes and then pooped out. It wasn't fully charged, but we did the math and decided to just buy a corded one. Bought a Porter Cable 6.5 amp at Lowes (This one I believe.)...

    Bluepoint ratcheting wrenches?

I have the Bluepoint ratcheting wrenches, I'm reasonably sure they're rebadged Gear Wrench

    Compressor Oil

Wal-Mart will often have ND-30wt, and Tractor Supply Co. always has it. Both are probably cheaper than NAPA if the're options for you. I don't know what oil my compressor recommends, but I have a owners manual that covers the IR compressors and they recommend Compressor Oil or Mobil 1 10-30

D'oh, hit post in the wrong window. Hopefully a Mod will help me out with the move. Sorry.

    Rotary SP84 lift?

So I'm talking to a guy about the purchase of a Rotary lift. Because of the ceiling height, I'm looking at the lower weight and height 2-posts. 7K lbs / 8 ft. The model I've found appears to be an SP84 Mk I (seller doesn't know/can't find model #). I was just wondering if anyone had any...

Painting my Snap On tool box, is it worth it?

I agree. I would bet that after you give it a cleaning and buffing (Meguair's 3 step Cleaner and Polish work well if you don't have Menzerna or other good stuff), you'll find that the PPG paint code should match really well. What fades paint is UV exposure, if it's lived its life in the garage...
