I can't help from personal experience, but antique car guys seem to have better luck with painting the tail light reflectors with white paint than with putting tin foil or other metallic material to help with visibility of the tail lights.

What do you do after you pour the thinner on it? Sweep it up after the thinner evaporates? Wait a period of time? More details please.

Coincidence or not, I found a guy on Craigslist with some breakers to sell. Turns out one is a 30A ITE Q series. Comparing it at Lowes, It looks like the Siemens Q230 is the same. Thanks for all the input.
