Gas is the way to go if you plan on doing most of your work indoors, it's a much cleaner process. Welding outdoors with gas could be a problem as the slightest air movement could direct the gas away from your work affecting weld quality in which case flux core would be the preferred method...

Check the I.D. on that gas pipe, you may not be able to use standard water fittings.
