The North Carolina summers are HOT to say the least but the worst part is the from about 2 or 3 o'clock on, which is during the hottest and worst part of the day, the sun is shining DIRECTLY on my garage door. Which with no A/C in there it just gets unbearable to say the least to be in. My wife...
Finally got the free overhead cabinets uncovered today that I got off of craigslist. I measured and if I cut the overlapping connecting end off it will fit perfect from corner to the end of the wall. I'm going to put a piece of plywood on top I saved from the tear down to put like a shelf on...
Worked some more yesterday and pulled up the vinyl flooring and pressure washed the remainder up we couldn't remove with a putty knife. Now I need to figure out what is the best method to get the rest of the glue up.
Hey guys. I took up the vinyl flooring that was on the floor in the room I removed from my garage. As you can seen in this image I still have some glue left I need to remove. I've read various things online including pouring boiling water on it to remove it.
What is the best way to get this...
Thanks 53PontiacSD.
My electrician suggested LED lights and is working on getting a price for me.
I've been busy with work and haven't been able to get a lot done. Here's what I got done last night. I pulled up the vinyl flooring and hopefully time will allow today to try and take the pressure...

I have a 20x28 attached garage with a 10 feet ceiling that is all painted a tan inside. One wall is a little less in length because of a laundry room. What all info can I give you to get a recomendation on what lighting I need to install?
I recently bought a house with an attached 20x28 garage. The outer walls are brick with plywood interior walls. I am loosing some space on the left side as you can see in the pics by a room the previous owners installed for the washer & dryer. I had previously thought about keeping the room...
isb cornbinder, I guess my next question would be how would I use it?
My windows face toward the North. My options to pull air would be to open the other window or leave the garage door open. I could also leave the screen door open going into the house that would draw the A/C from the house.
Or...
Yeah that might be the way to go.
I think I might start a thread. My plans are when I get back from the beach to tear down that small room which at one time I was going to keep.
I'm starting a major project soon an am trying to get the garage in order before I do. I've already got an...
Your correct Eric.
I'm at the beach on vacation and am just going off what I can remember.
If I made the framing out of 2x4's I would lose garage space so I want to keep it the way it is.
I'm reading your "garage refurb" post right now
I should be able to remove the strips and then remove the plywood and reuse it.
I have measured the distance from the wall on the bottom and I have about a 1/2" of clearance from the wall so I'm thinking 1/2" sheet insulation should work.
