    Garage Condo -how to insure

So in my case the unit is not on the same property as my house so my homeowners policy covers nothing. If I was renting the space my contents would be covered and I could add it to an umbrella for my primary residence. But since it’s remotely located and I own it, it needs its own primary...

    Garage Condo Insurance Questions

I have insurance now so your right, insurance is available. But I did have to buy a business policy. I sent my broker an email stating I do not own or run a business and am using the space for my personal use which includes auto restoration, welding, etc, and asked that he acknowledge that he...

    Project Car Garage idea

There are a few of these around me. They’re $600-800/ month for one vehicle. You pay more for things like clogging up a lift for more then a day. The key would be - no friends. Everyone would need to treated like a client. Vetted prior to being accepted, kept on a short lease, HUGE security...

    Garage Condo Insurance Questions

I have PM'd a couple guys on this forum about this topic and got varied answers. Apologizes if I have asked you already... I bought a commercial condo garage in a small complex (24 units) and am having trouble getting it insured. The building owners association covers the building itself and...

    Have I already got a Solberg filter/silencer?

How can I tell if the filter that came on my compressor is or isn't a Solberg filter/silencer? When you take the lid off, there is a round paper filter element in the middle. Around the filter are 3 clear plastic tubes for air intake. These tubes are open on the bottom to outside the housing and...

    Questions about compressor noise

I would be concerned about a car muffler on the compressor side of the air filter. What if some fiberglass or whatever else might be in a muffler got sucked through your compressor? Filter silencers are cheap to buy. That and extend it up higher and you shouldn't need a car muffler.

    Air Quick Connect Sizes

I just received some quick coupler bodies that I ordered through Zoro and they are gigantic! I ordered 1/2" because the wall fitting they will thread into are 1/2 fnpt. I didnt realize that there were also different hose fitting sizes ?!? So I need to send these back and get 1/2" fnpt by ...

Air plumbing - lack of slope in main line

I am in the process of plumbing air in my shop using 3/4" copper. My problem is that there is the first horizontal straight section that will be 40' long and to slope that length with 1/4"/ft means I would need to drop 10" over the length. That is all kinds of problems with the existing surface...

How did you plumb Air around your shop?

Your shop must have had one crappy air system. No regulation from the tank? Any dryer? Any isolation valves? I'm installing my compressor now and i'm finding that a quality system beyond the tank is going to cost more than the new 80 gallon, 2 stage compressor. But when's it's done it will be...

    The Garage Condo

I do base this on experience but it also may be a California thing. I have been trying without success to get a policy for a condo garage that I do NOT run a business out of. Everyone says get a business policy but the first thing they ask is how many employees, annual revenue, etc. Give them...

Leaving a compressor on its wood skid

Mine came with isolator so I used them. I did have to buy wedge anchors. I put mine under stairs up to a mezzanine so the 6" height of the pallet was an issue too. It also came with an auto drain valve that would not have cleared the wood skid.
