Re: what did you do in your garage today?
Started converting one of my storage areas into a "Man Cave". I had setup a Man Cave for my son.. but he never really used it. Too busy in his room gaming I guess... sigh. Anyway he's off to college in the fall and I decided to turn HIS area into...
Just go for it. I restore cars and I started from not knowing much. Just dive in and have fun. As far as creepers and jack stands go.. that's all I use and have no problem whatsoever. Not everybody has the room or can afford a nice lift. Will be great bonding time for you and your son...
I like OSB on walls too.. hold up much better than drywall. How did the cousins not know to attach sheets to studs..? What DID they attach the sheets to?
Don't care for the green roof. Makes the place look smaller.. kind of looks like somebody is painting their school colors on there. I'd refresh what was there and maybe just paint the trim a darker color.
I always seem to misplace vice grips. Every once in awhile I'll take a time out for my projects to look for missing tools. Usually end up finding them and sticking them all back in a drawer until I need them again...... after which I end up losing them again.. oh a viscous cycle indeed.
I LOVE this! LOVE IT! I can't imagine how fun it would be to fix that beautiful station up. Now I'm getting the bug to build one on my property. You are a very fortunate individual! Good luck and keep the pics coming as you do the work! Thanks for posting!
... Tools... can't have enough of 'em. Agree with most that cheap tools just take up space. Get so frustrated when one breaks.. buy good quality. Better to have fewer tools with good quality than more that are crappy. Just my thoughts. Looks good!
It's not uncommon for people to buy new items and try to get more for them on Ebay. If people are willing to pay more I guess that's their right. The only time I use Ebay is if I'm having trouble finding a part for a car that I just can't locate anywhere else. But knowing what you're looking...
I'm doing kind of the same thing. I want to build an extension on my shop (as they never are big enough)... and so I'll buy some materials/lumber each paycheck.. just set it aside until I've got enough to get the structure going.. I'll definitely hire out the concrete work tho'... just not...
This is a sweet shop. Has a vintage look to it. Kind of like the ol' gas station designs. Really like the one sided roof and 3 bay setup. Great job. You've got to be chomping at the bit to finally get it done.
Speak for yourself.. ha! But I am hopeful one day to have a "clean" shop.
Those are working shops... Guys are focused on the work.. not where the work is being done.
OK.. truth.. How many of you have run out of room and have built on to your existing shop/garage so you can stuff more in there? :headscrat
I'm coming to the realization that my "tiny" 24 x 28 garage isn't cutting it. I'm going to have to extend the front out another 20 - 22 feet and enclose...
