    Old Weaver Lift + Carport

Been using the lift some and enjoying it. Haven’t had time to get to the Desoto but eventually…

    Old Weaver Lift + Carport

Strapped an engine hoist in the semi retired Ford for a hillbilly tow truck and hoisted the posts upright and bolted them down. Think I’ll take the cylinders to a local hydraulic shop and see what seal replacement is going to run so leaks aren’t an issue later. Going to try and sell one of my...

    Old Weaver Lift + Carport

Stripped the lifts down and am cleaning them up and painting them. The safety dogs/lever seem to simply go over center to disengage. It appears there was just a handle on both sides to disengage them. I hope to stand up the posts and start going back together soon. Although the hydraulic...

    Excavation and fill question(s)

I’d consider using the dry stack, pre cast retaining wall blocks. Our redi-mix plant sells large ones that you’d set with your excavator.

    Old Weaver Lift + Carport

So I bought an old ‘49 Desoto to build into a full custom, chopped top, etc. Decided I’m too old to roll around on the garage floor building another project from the ground up. Went ahead bought an old Weaver AFH-72 (I think) lift for cheap. Well, really didn’t want to give up the floor space in...

    WV joining

Hello fellow gear heads. Joining up for some educational on a vintage Weaver AFH-72 lift, as well as any other good shop advice. I’ve done a few builds over the years and am about to start a full custom 49 Desoto. Just getting too old to roll around on the floor any more and decided a lift would...
