Yup overkill is exactly what I want! Yes it will be controlled by a variable speed controller. The garage has 13' ceilings, and another 20'x22' garage attached to pull air from when the man doors open.

just me personally, id design the floor with oversized steel i beams strong enough to support the lift entirely that would run front to back.. so basically the beam would be directly under each of the 2 columns on ether side of the vehicle.

Id love to find one for a 9'x9' door myself, but everything I've seen are for 7' or 8' max height doors. :(

it takes awhile to get here.. but the rolls of led lights on ebay are a nice option. order an entire roll and the 120 volt little plug in power adapter, and stick them up where ever ya want. I would order the water proof kind simply for the sealed and little more robust factor.
