Mike, we had a very decent time up there last weekend. The steak was delicious, and the potatoes (with onions) where amazing. The shop is looking great! Will be even nicer with some steel in there. And I agree we need to do this more often.
Personally I would think since you will likely already have a gm wiring harness and PCM already, it would be less hassle than dealing with that dreaded TV cable to go with a 4L60/80E.

Corning did/does make a mechanical spice. I know this because i have replaced a couple over the years. You cleave the fiber like you do to install a unicam, shove them into the splice and crimp it. It has the index matching gel inside like the unicam connectors do.

I have the GB40 as well. It has not let me down yet. I have jump started my "winter beater" car several times. Turns out the battery had gone south on the car and would not hold a charge. The Noco jumped it every time. Just hooked it, turned it on, and cranked the car. I would say 4-5 times...
