    Fake surveillance cameras?

Motion sensing lights are not a deterrent at all in my experience. I have video of attempted burglars not even flinching when they turn on while scoping out my neighbors cars and house (neighbors lights, not mine). Even my place with multiple visible cameras, exterior lights and 3x100lbs dogs...

    Fake surveillance cameras?

The key in most cases is to just make your property more difficult to enter than your neighbors. Sounds bad but it's true. If it's not being used right now, put a wrench or metal bar in the track of any over head doors. This way they can't be forced open. Add door jamb reinforcement to any man...

Great way to store winter tires&rims

Agreed, these are great! Call me crazy but I feed a ratchet strap through each wheel and around the mount...just in case. Doesn't have to be tight just snug to create one connected mass. That would probably be a good idea in your case since the overhead door will vibrate that wall.

    R-Savage New Home Machine Shop

That would be dirt. The insulation acts as an air filter for the air that travels through it. Seeing as there is no vapor barrier in the pics there is obviously quite a bit of air passing through those walls. Probably both ways.

2 Post lift for 10' ceiling

Kind of related to this, how much of a pain would it be to install one of these shorter 2-posts in a bay that is only 16' wide (wall-to-wall). Also limited to just over 10' in height.

    Garage Use ?- 15x19

I have a 16x20' attached garage. I use it as an auto shop and woodshop (need to pull the car out for this). Right now there is a full size car, 2 spare V6 engines, 3 complete AWD transmissions, two rear diffs, 3 complete sets of tires/wheels, engine stand, cherry picker, work bench, 44"...

    Concrete curb cutting advice

Thanks for the comments/advice guys and sorry for my late reply! I really want to avoid touching the existing driveway. That means no grinding and definitely no ripping out to re-pour if I can avoid it. At least for now. I would much rather try re-sloping the curb as-is first before touching...

    Concrete curb cutting advice

Hey everyone, I am looking for some advice on widening my driveway approach. Over 10 years ago the previous owners of my house had an exposed aggregate concrete driveway poured and they made the poured section wider than the existing drive by a couple feet on either side. Excellent, two cars...

    Extending driveway sides

Maybe I am biased since the townhouse owners across the street from me have their garages full of old fridges and stoves and then park 3 cars on the street blocking my driveway.... But I am for the mind set of buying a house that fits your needs. If you already don't have space I would look...

    Replacing garage door

If you are purchasing a new home (I assume it is being built now?), why not just have the builder install the door that you want...? :-)

    Anti-climb wall ideas

    1. Buy a few green laser pointers from China. 2. Buy a replica of a big *** gun. 3. Buy a PTZ camera with auto tracking and spare I/Os 4. Buy a 20ft mast. 5. Mount laser pointers onto camera so they pan/tilt with it. 6. Install laser cam and big *** gun replica on mast. 7. Program camera auto...
