    Fixing drywall tape

I don't see why he's necessarily need to be much higher than the skim coat if the gap is exactly the size of the tape? I had something similar in our Master Bath when the heat pump drain pan leaked in the ceiling. Just lay down some mud, place tape on top of mud and put a layer or two over the...

    Sears or Ikea butcher block??

I just installed 3 of the Oak Ikea slabs in our playroom. I need to join them and then sand down the seams. Other than the fact that the thickness is slightly different from piece to piece, maybe 1/16", they're great. They have Birch and Oak options. I've bought both in the past but these Oak...

    Your stud finder recommendations?

Yup. My brother in law had a really fancy expensive stud finder when we started remodeling his house. Ended up using my Franklin model after a week.

    Workshop LED lighting

I haven't personally had good experiences with LED Track lighting if it's the kind that replaces mini-halogen bulbs. I had a bunch in my last house and the LEDs were really dim. If you're talking about a regular recessed light, I've replaced all the incandescent and CFLs in our new house with...

    Part 2 of pad replacement.

Bagster is a great deal if you don't have any other reasonable means to get rid of that stuff. My county dump is reasonably close but I don't have a vehicle that could reasonably handle all that junk. I put a bunch of stuff in one at my old house when I was redoing the drywall.

I'm thinking of putting formica on a pegboard for a cool look. Thoughts?

Not sure you'd even need to go to all that trouble. A can of spray mount and a trip to the CostCo photo center will give you a nice looking image to lay on top of it. With vinyl I suspect that the underlying holes would create easily visible indentations on the surface. Maybe that's not a bad...

I'm thinking of putting formica on a pegboard for a cool look. Thoughts?

Seems like attaching the whole laminate to the pegboard then drilling from the back of the pegboard through the laminate into a sacrificial board is the best way to prevent tear out and alignment issues.

    Pinch Me, it it real?

Mitch, if you need a graphic designer to tune up your logo for you just give me a shout. I've gotten enough entertainment out of this thread that it warrants some pay back.

As a Graphic Designer I have to give you kudos for that. Great design and I'd buy a shirt of that for sure.
