Snap On KRL 1001/1201 75 Anniversary Edition

I have a kr 1001 and my driver warrantied all the slides in it, took a long time to get all of them from accuride. I did them 2 at a time every few weeks. I am not the first or probably even second owner either.

    Proto j150wp-m

I have the Mac branded version, I haven’t used it to much yet but it works good in a small space.

    Triple square bits/sockets set

I have a metalnerd set for head bolts, they are pretty good. For other sizes I have the Snap-on set with a security 16. I found the snap on set to be too long for some stuff so I have some mac short, impact and long sets for non Vw euro cars. I also have several sets of torx for my Audi and...

Mechanics tell the truth: Smoke Machines!

I do a lot of evap tests on cars, one every day or 2. We use shop air everytime, I'm sure our machine was made long before nitrogen was even used in a shop environment and I've never heard that warning. We use only the snap on fluid in the snap on machine because that's what it came with, but...

    Thoughts on cordless impact guns

Get the Dewalt 899 with the hog ring end. I have the mac branded version and it's great, as well as the 3/8 and 1/4 versions. I traded in my Snap-on gun towards it and would do it again. Nothing else is even worth considering.

    Matco 20v impact or CT8850?

I traded my beat up Snap-on towards a mac branded Dewalt 899. I would have never bought the snap on one if it hadn't been part of a much larger set I was getting. The batteries don't interchange with anything and are super expensive, the gun isn't all that impressive either. My co worker...

Mac tools axis 90 tooth ratchets

we have 2 of 3/8" axis long handle flex ratchets in my shop, they get a lot of use, but at least once a month they strip out and need rebuilt. it's not unusual for both of them to be broke at the same time. The heads are real floppy and the last time we had to use a torch to get it apart after...

    Why no dual 80 flex?

There's 2 of them in my shop, at least once a month they are broken, the older one has been fixed probably 6 times now, the last time it broke off a bolt in the plate and we had to use a torch to free the locktite out of it to get it rebuilt. The head and gears are to small for the long of a...

    Why no dual 80 flex?

The mac ones are terrible, can't keep them together, heads are stripped once a month. I'm sure snap on is bringing one out, they just did a long flex 1/4" and then a 18" breaker bar 3/8. I'm willing to bet the next thing they bring out is a 18" flex head 3/8"

Has anyone seen an impact 3/8's air ratchet ?

like this? https://www.amazon.com/dp/B003V9P6RO/?tag=atomicindus08-20 I have a mac built version, and have seen a matco version as well.

Only one: Choosing an Electric Impact

I have the mac version of the 3/8" impact, it is rated slightly better than the regular version, I use it a lot for brakes and such but I use the dewalt 899 for any hard to get loose lugs. Yeah it's big and expensive, my snap on 1/2" will do most lugs, but if they're over torqued or seized...

    Auto Tech Student Help

I took out a personal loan to buy a bunch of stuff through snap on student program, I got it for less than the truck guy can get it. It's less than $100 a month for my payment and 5k goes a long way for half price Snap-on. I waited till I was done with school and already working, I just...

Matco Revel & Revel X boxes, no more 4, 5 and 6 series?

The slanted edges on the pulls won't collect dust just like the epiq's. I will hold judgement until I see one with a top and how the corners fit together, if it's a full trim piece like the 6s has it will be nice. I guess there is a power strip in one of the lower drawers and outlets on the...

Matco Revel & Revel X boxes, no more 4, 5 and 6 series?

They can't order them yet, they showed them off at some conference awhile back and did a rework shortly after. I know there's a flyer with pricing but my dealer was pissed about them not being able to order one so why show them off. He was out of flyers by Thursday though. They are the same...

First visit to a MAC truck

The snap on Epiq boxes are the ultimate box, followed by the KRL master series. The Matco 6s are pretty close after that in quality, and have many features not on other boxes like 31" depth, half hutch tops, top lids and center drawer add ons, plus configurable drawers. The Mac boxes are nice...
